Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, July 24, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, welcome to another week of Surfing in Nicaragua. The waves are small so, the best thing to do is to go explore, maybe you'll find something better around the corner.

Javier Baldovinos

Which today was not the case… the waves at Rosada were limited, small and soft. But that didn’t stop these guys to try it.

Javier Baldovinos

I'm glad I wasn’t the only (crazy) one trying to get some photos here today. This is what I call a good girlfriend.

Javier Baldovinos

The time I was there, this wave was the best one that came through… I’m glad someone took it and made it possible for me to add it on the report. Now go kiss your girl and thank her for the photos she (hopefully) took of you.

Besides rescuing your longboard from oblivion, another good thing about small days it’s that you get to see a lot more girls out in the water. Or is it a marmaid?

Javier Baldovinos

After a few long minutes of waiting for waves, I decided that it was time to head back to check how Santana was doing.

Javier Baldovinos

And this is what I found there… little peelers breaking everywhere along the beach, and just a few people in the water.

Javier Baldovinos

See what I mean when I say that these conditions attract girls? These ladies were laying on the sand working on their tan.

Javier Baldovinos

While others were out and about catching all the waves and having a blast with them.

Javier Baldovinos

Of course there were not only women in the water… the regular amount of testosterone was also out there, showing some power and control on those “big” sets that appeared not that often.

Javier Baldovinos

Here it is first peak looking great as always, and no one even trying to catch it.

Javier Baldovinos

And here is Mario Martinez, squishing the water out of those little waves in every turn.

Javier Baldovinos

Nice little spray on a nice little wave… this guy was having a great time today.

Javier Baldovinos

Another girl that decided that today was a good day to get wet at Santana.

Javier Baldovinos

And a few more on their way! Not a bad day to come hang out at the beach, right guys?

Javier Baldovinos

The sky was turning grey and looked like it was about to start raining so it was time for me to go…

Javier Baldovinos

… to go get my son from futbol practice at Fun Limon.

If you are having trouble deciding if it’s a good idea to bring your family on a surf trip, I would say that there are plenty of things to do with the kids, with our without the parents, in or out of the water… so, don’t think too much, just bring them too!

Javier Baldovinos

You never know, maybe your kids can become great surfers from a small age… and start surfing small and big (really big!) waves, competing around the world, and winning everything! Just like the Resano sisters… Congratulations Valentina for becoming the new Champion in Costa Rica! And her little sister Candelaria for winning the Under 12 category in Costa Rica too!
