Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, July 23, 2015

Hello everybody and welcome to the Thursday surf report for southern Nicaragua with Parker. The swell filled in and gave us great conditions today! Keep scrolling down for this morning's shots.

The waves today ranged from head high to double head high. Combined with the offshore breeze, everybody was stoked!

Here is a shot from the early morning high tide. Over the last week, this guy has been charging and catching a ton of great waves. Check out his sequence!

I only have seen this guy wearing sunblock on his nose. Now I understand why he doesn't need that much...

Yeww! Congrats on an awesome wave! Reach out to me for the full higher resolution solution: [email protected].

Elvin was waiting for the outside sets. Despite the size, he man handled those waves!

Tripp from Corpus Christie was making his celebrity debut in the water today. Who says 50 year olds can't rip?!?!

Even though the waves were bigger and the tide was receding, there were playful sections.

On this wave, he cutback on the corner and tucked into the barrel. What more can you ask for on your birthday?!

How many cutbacks and sprays do you think you could throw on this wave? This guy threw three.

Our very own Codo is not one to sit on the sidelines and watch the action. He wanted to score some waves too. Make sure you hit him up at [email protected] if you want professional photography.

The weather at our beach was partially cloudy with a significant chance of raining Codo. Ask Elvin for yourself.

The ladies wanted to get out there and show the guys they can hang too. Yeww!!

An outside set came through and this guy scored. Check it out!!

We can see the pretty clear blue water. How does it look from your perspective??

Some of our waves are relentless and unforgiving. His wave packed a mean punch

But that didn't stop him! Congrats on snagging a beautiful wave! We were all cheering for you from the beach.

Peter and his son JJ are always charging the waves. Like father like son!

Sesoma is a great surfer visiting us from California. Over the past few days, he has snagged quite a few gems. This is one of many.

Elvin was all over the waves today. He caught a ton of nuggets and showed off numerous tricks per wave.

He is a pro at jamming the lip and spraying water off the lip. Keep killing it amigo!

A lot of guys took a straight drop on the waves today. Then they dug their fins in for a big bottom turn to set back up.

Nicaragua is known for its offshore winds. On our beach, they produce a hollow barrel.

... which got them in a perfect spot for a nice tube and hand drag.

Just ask this guy what he thinks of our conditions. Something tells me he will give you positive feedback...

Unfortunately, Rachel's fin cut her foot deeply today. She is getting taken care of with a some stitches. We are thankful that nothing worse happened and she will back out ripping and cracking jokes soon! As the waves are picking up, please remember to be safe!

Ok let's all finish our work so we can enjoy today's surf! Notice the color on the leaves- we received a good rain yesterday. Make sure you guys check back tomorrow for some more great waves. Email me for your photos or help scheduling a boat trip. Adios amigos!

After shooting our local beach, Carl and I went to Outer Reef. The waves were at least double over head and the offshore winds produced hollow tubes. Check out a few of the shots!

Outer Reef is a big steep wave reserved for extremely experienced surfers. Here is a local pulling into a nice set!

And also pulling into a gnarly barrel. Yeww!!!

Man, I know the feeling of snagging tubes at our home break but I can't imagine the feeling of a stand up barrel!

While Carl was paddling out, I found a perch to set up and take photos from. Disclaimer: NSR is not responsible for your doodles on important work documents!

Carl charged it by paddling in. Outer Reef is a tough drop because of the size and proximity to the eye.

He is always good for a deep stylish bottom turn. Imagine yourself shooting down the face and turning that hard...

And then a seemless turn to pull into the right spot. It is actually an NSR rule that all business owners must be phenomenal surfers.

How's the view in there?!?! #thatsmyboss

Freedom from the spitting beast!!! Yeah Carl!

Carl snagged one more on his way in during the sunset. The light's reflection from the water is gorgeous!

Here is your new phone back ground compliments of NSR and Parker. Thank you guys for checking out some Outer Reef material! Scroll to the next day (7/24/2015) to see some more bombs.
