Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, July 21, 2020

Brian Scott

Hey everybody, welcome back for the Tuesday surf report. It was a bit of a weird day so to speak for waves… a new swell was supposed to be arriving, yet the ocean wasn’t quite delivering the goods; instead we had a super humid and muggy day and every time I seemed to check the waves, there wasn’t anyone really out there surfing (tide sensitive, not enough swell, etc etc) well, there is a happy ending to this story for today so jump on in so I can tell you all about it!

Brian Scott

Here’s what it looked like right around 4:30pm. Not a single person out and no real swell to be seen for what was forecasted.

Brian Scott

It was pretty clean however condition-wise. But you could still smell that salty onshore air just wanting to blow in from the sea.

Brian Scott

Surf-able???…. there was some potential!

Brian Scott

After waiting for at least 45 min or so, twiddling my thumbs as to what the heck I was gonna do for a surf report, these two amigos showed up for the evening POWO!

Brian Scott

Even better… with them paddling out, I could actually see that there was actually some swell starting to fill in!

Brian Scott

My 5 o’clock go to buddy! Cesar all in with just two people out for the arvo sesh tonight!

Brian Scott

Philipo getting his own peak down the way all to himself, taking time to enjoy some fancy footwork in front of the lens for a change.

Well here you have it folks. This was one of the many better set waves that was peeling in this evening. If you’ve surfed here for the last couple of weeks or so, this is a nice thick one that we’ve all been missing. I’m really hoping this is a good sign to come for the next week or so!

Brian Scott

There was definitely some more energy emerging out there as the clock was ticking quickly towards 6 O’clock.

The raddest part of our little threesome photo session this evening was the lighting.

Papa Cesar on a Golden Hour runner!

By this point, the humidity was so thick you could cut it with a knife. But The set’s were still rolling in and I didn’t really wanna pack it up just yet.

Brian Scott

2020 has been, by far one of the trippiest years, or times for that matter in my entire life. Wrapping up July with only two guys out surfing. Completely UNREAL!!!!

Brian Scott

Add this to the equation and ya, it just seemed like something biblical. Here’s how our storm front was approaching us from the east. Which also meant, it was time for me to boogie on out-a-there!

Brian Scott

The sunset was absolutely epic (as usual), but never in all the time I’ve been here, have I taken any of these masterpieces of light for granted. So blessed with this day which could have otherwise seemed like there was nothing to look forward to, but instead, ended up being one of the best of the best! REST & we hope to see you mañana!
