Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, July 18, 2008

Welcome to the Friday surf report. This is Roberto “Lucha Libre” and Mateo “Pledge” with the bad news. Unfortunately the wind was affected by the tropical development in the Caribbean. So today the waves were around a couple of feet overhead, but it didn’t matter because the wind was onshore. There were only a total of three people surfing in the water today. Check out what was going on at the beach.

Since the outside waves were no good, it was perfect to do some surf lessons on the inside. Here you can see all the people out there learning how to surf. There is a lot of surf schools to choose from here in San Juan del Sur, but the best one is done right out of NSR, if you are interested in learning you should check us out.

The first surfing shot of “the washing machine” goes to our buddy “El Cunado.” He was pretty stoked to find this shoulder and give it a solid backside swack.

The second surfing shot goes to Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro. His speed was helping him out a lot today to get around all of the sections that were caused by the bad wind. Here he is finding the end and giving it a solid hack.

As you can see there is some solid swell in the water, but the wind was just killing it. Tomorrow looks like it has plenty of potential to be super good. There is plenty of swell showing on the forecast and the wind is projected to be offshore. Keep your fingers crossed and check back!

Hi guys this is Jairo “Come Pan” Panic. I just got done spending a week with these clients, who are now my friends, all over NIcaragua. They hired me for a week to take a bunch of surf shots of them. This is a shot of one of the beaches we surfed and guess what; we were the only people out there. Check out what else I got.

The first shot of these guys is the leader, Barry “Sr Pedo” Oliver, setting up for a nice floater   “Sr Pedo” was so excited to take  his friends to a bunch of different spots down here in Nicaragua.

The next surf shot is Marc “El Afortunado” Sandknop bottom turning on a hollow right. You might be wondering why his nickname means “lucky”, well he is 39 years old and he has a girlfriend who is 22 years old. And she is gorgeous! Good work buddy.

This is the next Marc of the group and his nickname is “Pies Grande” Kallick. Here he is on a fun left using his big feet  to help him maintain his balance.

This is Pete “Picapiedras” Dolan making a bottom turn on a good sized of right. He may be the oldest guy of the group, but he says he feels like the youngest.

This is Nate “El Chiqui Chiqui” Weber getting the best barrel of the day. This guy really loved the waves down here in Nicaragua, but not nearly as much as the Chiquis!!!

This is Clark “El Ortega” Acuna with the last surfing shot of the day. Unfortunately he was sick most of the surf trip, but this day he was feeling good enough to paddle out there and catch some fun waves.

This group shot is the last photo of the day. A was super fun working with you guys all week and we hope to see you again soon. Come Pan out!
