Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, July 17, 2022

Brian Scott

It’s that time again. . . for your weekly dose of Sunday Funday goodness! Todays waves weren’t quite as perfect as yesterdays, if you caught Mr. Chris’s report (waves were on fire and some sick pics - nice one Chris!!) Today was a little more patchy and cloudy and although the waves (at least when I got down there, it was straight offshore, it switched about halfway through my photo sesh and the winds went straight side shore. . . and hard too! But it was still a beautiful day. Sunday that is!

Brian Scott

You can see there’s still plenty of size out there, but that a side shore was making it’s way around the bay as the winds switched and were coming from Gigante side.

Brian Scott

Here’s one of those super sunny and gorgeous moments when the clouds weren’t passing by and making it cloudy and taking away my perfect light!

Brian Scott

Some random dude putting on his own little Sunday Funday show for some swimmers.

Brian Scott

Here’s what it looked like when the sun went hiding behind some clouds. Sick turn whoever you are Mr. Ripper!

Brian Scott

The barrels looked clean, but you could tell as that a wind started to push harder and harder to the north, the waves (even though they were still barreling, it started to get kinda crumby) this doesn’t look crumbly or bad though.

Brian Scott

But here’s the same guy as he drove this thing all the way practically straight to the beach.

Brian Scott

Now you can see (even though the sun popped out again - while guy was popping a little inside section air) the chop out the back was starting to get more and more non-offshore groomed looking.

Brian Scott

This guy had a 12 piece nugget. No not from McDonalds, but his little in ’n’ out sequence did!

Brian Scott

Here’s just a little Price Mart (or better known in the states as Costco) like one of those teaser food samples they ave at the end of some of the isles.. jajaja

Brian Scott

Fin throwing around some serious fin gouging.

Brian Scott

And here’s what one of those nice and sizable (look at the dood paddling up the wave face for size reference) outside cleanup set’s looked like. Now it was starting to get really crumbly (especially the big ones way out the back)

Brian Scott

If it weren’t for photos, it’d be hard not to be able to tell the take of a good or bad days waves.

Brian Scott

Meaning, here’s a super perfect looking left. And yes if you look close enough there’s a surfer in there on a red board.

Brian Scott

Hmm. . . oh I also forgot to mention the crowd factor wasn’t that bad either, so I bet you it was this kid!

Brian Scott

Perfection before side shore destruction.

Brian Scott

Ohhh and looking back at to the east, this was my warning to get back to cover and quickly. This rain storm wasn’t too bad, pretty short actually, but I was stoked I timed todays report shoot when I did.

Brian Scott

Polar opposites, that last photo was taken looking away from the beach and then I turned and snapped this one looking out to the ocean. You would never know. But it was a good time to come in anyways for some lunch. Maybe get some paddle fuel and possibly it’ll glass off for the evening session. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. Saludos ~
