Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, July 16, 2010

Hi folks, we are the NSR family bringing you a little of the action for this Friday surf report.  Today we went to the beach in the afternoon trying to snap a couple shots.  Unfortunately the waves were very choppy, the winds were strong onshore and it was raining a little bit too.  Check it out!!!

First at all we want to throw in a couple shots of our culture.  Every July 16 all the fisherman celebrate Dia del Carmen, taking this image down to the main roads in town and later to the dock, to go out on a panga for a ride.

Here is a shot of all the pangas getting ready to go out.  This weekend is going to be wild, we have all kind of activities going on in town.  So, if you are around come by and check it out.

Back to the “SURF”, we have to tell you that the lineup was almost empty today.  There were only two guys out doing their best to catch a couple of mushy ones.  Here is this guy picking up one of the cleaner waves of the day.

The surf wasn’t that good today but we have to say that we had quite a good crowd on the beach having a good time.  Here is this shot of the scene!

A few guys don’t believe that the world cup is already finished.  So, they keep playing every single day.  This girl loves football but we have to mention that she is a little upset because she is from Holland.  Figure out why!

This weekend we are going to have an unusual surf contest at Playa Maderas, called Maderas Open Pro.  The first prize will be an iphone and the inscription is only C$100.  We also are going to have a fishing tournament, that’s why lots of Managuans are coming down and taking their boats in the water.  Probably will be better to go fishing than surfing because the winds are supposed to stay like this for the whole weekend.

Alright folks, this is all for today.  Hope to catch some better waves tomorrow, please check back with us.
