Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, July 13, 2020

Brian Scott

Howdy & welcome to another week of surfing and your quick look view into the simple life here in Nica-Land! Where no matter the size of the waves, everyone here always seems to find something fun to partake in. Come see!

Brian Scott

Kicking it off with Danai and her rad “air drop” into this emerald green wave this morning. Danai has put a lot of heart and soul (and blood sweat and tears) into learning the ropes of surfing. I know people who would have and actually given up long before where she’s gotten at with her surfing. Surfing isn’t a race… people need to always remember it’s a lifestyle first and foremost. The challenge and personal goal setting and mind game that comes with your learning curve will always be at the very bottom of what surfing should mean to you. If you’re always happy when riding waves… then you’ve already won!!!

Brian Scott

If you go to any Home Depot, Walmart, or major grocery chain store or bank (from what I’ve seen in pictures on social media) they have 6 foot markers on the floor to let you know when you’re not doing your part with social distancing.  Well, we’ve placed specially red marked single granuels of sand to indicate our six foot rule here. Buzz here, practicing social distancing, Nica-Style! Haha

Dario still at it with his Franken-Foil. If this were a typical July 13th, there’s no way he could even think about foiling in this otherwise normally crowded beach break. He’d have already needed to criss cross past about 30 shoulder hoppers and 20 more inside board ditchers. I summarize with the sarcasm that, yes, this place is pretty uncrowded right now… so much that you can foil board at one of the best beach breaks in all of Latin America without a single scalping.

Bart…. let me introduce you to my buddy Mr. Bartosz. He’s an amazing artist and equally impressive fine line tattoo artist. That being said, he’s been here enjoying the tropical warm waves of Nicaragua for some time now. If you’re ever in need of some eye candy, be it on canvas or your skin, he’s the guy!!! Check him out here for his ART and to see some ink work check him out here and get POKED

Brian Scott

Bart living the life!

Brian Scott

This happy crew all…. I mean EVERYONE of them happily posed for my camera today so I decided to call them the Happy “Wilson” Crew. Let’s see if you can find the hidden easter egg????

Brian Scott

Here’s why…. they know what’s up!!!!

Brian Scott

I’m no Nostradamus, but I’ve always had a feeling that Dario was always head over heals for Tatiana. Hahaha

Brian Scott

Here’s to our Wednesday Warrior reporter…. AKA Mr. Baldo! Love to see that everyone’s out surfing so much.

Brian Scott

Choppy on the outside, glassy on the inside.

Brian Scott

With a slight chance of rain petty much every day this week!

Brian Scott

If ya ain’t got love, then what do ya got????

Brian Scott

Baldo agrees…. 100% This is how much love he has for his beautiful country.

Brian Scott

Haha imagine if there were actually a surfing addictions anonymous group; would this guy be in the bottom turns class? Guilty as charged!

Brian Scott

It’s been so fun out there lately, we decided to have a little mini women’s comp!

Brian Scott

It was super low key and it was a three woman heat. With only the one heat.

Brian Scott

There was no surfboard class devision or age requirement.

Brian Scott

Just show up and blow up with as many smiles and waves as you can catch in a 30 min window.

Brian Scott

Let’s just say the heat was stacked with super high level competitiveness.

Brian Scott

HAHA - Even Dario knows I was totally just making all that up. There really wasn’t a contest. I just need some good content to write and I thought it would be funny! Ok, the jokes on me now. I’ll see you out there mañana Dario with your Franken-Foil? Anyone who wants to be in one of my ridiculous surf reports again tomorrow, you know where to reach me! See ya’ll out there… Cheers ~
