Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, July 10, 2022

Brian Scott

Happy Sunday Funday! B-Ri back with the end of the weekend action. Today was pretty mental! Super on fire, a lot of people out (this is what happens - which is pretty rare - but only happens usally when we go for a little while with not so good of waves this has been weather permitting and also some lack of swell), but once it's back, EVERYONE froths out and are all eager beavers to get back into Tube town! And today was one of those finer days!!!! Just remember, we’re one of the most special & luckiest places on the planet where the winds blow offshore all day long, so remember to relax, take it easy and it’s not a race to see how many waves you can get, but try and keep the place “Unlike” everywhere else and keep that “Diacachimba” vibe! Aloha ~

Brian Scott

I could count on one hand of the only few waves that any surfer straightened out on. Otherwise, everyone, makable or totally closeout annihilation, was charging and like I said completely fronting out!

Brian Scott

Ain’t no barrel dodging going on today!

Brian Scott

Matter a fact, just by looking at this massive off the lip of this solid closeout section, you can see what I meant when I say the people were complete animals out there!

Brian Scott

Sand bars, the right tide, swell angle, multiple swell angles combined, the planet of your choice (there are a lot to choose from out there in outer space) is possibly in retrograde????…. however you wish to determine it; something was aligning perfectly for all these A-framing green salt mines and their solid 8-10 perfection today!

Brian Scott

Even the gremmies were stoked to be getting shacked in Nicaragua today! All you had to do was make the paddle in and set it up and get covered up!

Brian Scott

There were a lot of drop ins & litteral burns out there today, which is one of the reasons for my otherwise lengthy introduction verbiage. So always remember, the GOLDEN and NUMBER ONE RULE! Watch your take off’s!

Brian Scott

Luckily for this little tadpole, she ended up making that wave (same wave from prior shot) and got super shacked. But just be mindful next time!

Brian Scott

Then again, this will give you a better idea of how and why people were so insistent on getting their fare share of waves today.  But don’t worry, it’s not always like this. I think there is some team and some other Extra larger than normal travelers here rght now, which is an auto insta-crowd of 10-20 people, which will make any lineup fuller than your stomach on a full on food festivities Thanksgiving day!

Brian Scott

Señor Russel stoked and grinning ear to ear, not only to have the day off, but to be out there catching some of the best waves we’ve had in a while.

Brian Scott

This kids sequence is pretty nutso! I went with this shot because I really liked the water color and that heaving lip that’s about to completely cover him up. He got so drained on this, the entire sequence is pretty EPIC!

Brian Scott

Darren way down on the south end. The whole beachie was lit up south to north. You just needed to pick your pack of closest friends to sit and share waves with.

Brian Scott

Barry is smart. Well he is a Math teacher, so maybe he did the math and his calculations got him more waves than anyone else (at least without all that paddle battle, back paddle, and ridiculous wait time for a single wave). Anyhow, here he is scoring on one of the sandbars where it was the least crowded. Be smart, be like Barry!

Brian Scott

Now, there’s really only one caption I could think of and it’s a question for ALL OF YOU, my friendly readers. Who here has or had the best view. . . who do you think??? The swimmer, first surfer (getting shacked and about to get the beat down of the day), second surfer GETTING burned, YOU - the digital viewer? Who???

Brian Scott

I’ll tell you this much and I will leave you pondering and even feel free to scroll back up to that last shot for one more look to see, really which person’s view WAS the best? But I will leave you with this one last super duper deep “mystery” barrel surfer. Just for good measure for todays report.

Brian Scott

That’s it folks! That’s this weeks Sunday Funday report, and the waves are still firing down there while I sit here and write up these captions. I will see you all again tomorrow tho! SBS is out for the rest of the weekend ~
