Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, July 10, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Saludos,

Brian Scott

Hola mi amigos! Brian here throwing down a few extra shots from this evening. Got a last minute call that "the spot" was firing this efternoon. So the NSR crew was on it! Check it out... hopefully we get the same thing tomorrow as well. *Carlitos Caliente, pictured here slaying one of his first few of todays afternoon session. Lets just say it was pretty freaking epic out there today.

Brian Scott

Believe it or not, but there's a bombing right here in Nica-Land. It might be a one eyed flying unicorn of a wave, but it does exist!

Brian Scott

The left here is the main attraction, but you should know that just rolling up here thinking this wave is your normal pre-packaged big wave novelty spot.. Think again! Big wave aficionados from all over the world will agree that this place is No Joke! Enter at your own risk!

Brian Scott

Parker was an absolute mad man out there today. I’m not sure if it was a bad bet he was wagering on, or if he really wanted an up and close personal taste of this reefs glory it can give you when you connect with her inner workings… but this is him working it out! Props amigo to your courage and your juevos you showed out there today!

Brian Scott

If you think you’re lined up with that next set…. think again! and again and again…

Brian Scott

HotstickHannahs determination just might pay off soon enough out here. But remember buddy… mother ocean can be a mighty Biaaaatch!

Brian Scott

The inner circle here is pretty tight nit. and for good reason.

Brian Scott

Corduroy horizon and a small but very watchful crew.

Brian Scott

This is Cande Resano. She's a micro grom and yes that's a very heavy wave. Think of her and this wave the next time you get scared on a big one.

Brian Scott

Then again.. don't beat yourself up if it's big and you don't feel the courage to paddle out. Because this is Cande's dad Manny. Yeah, he surfs places like JAWS and Mavericks; and this particular place he calls home. So he bags some pretty big barrels here regulary. No wonder the apple doens't fall too far from the tree.

Hope you enjoyed our extented report this evening. Stay tuned for mañana!!  BS-out!

Before we close things out (again haha), I want to throw up a few more shots from my buddy Rick. Rick Briggs (@donde_x) is an extremely talented photographer in the Tola area of Nicaragua. Check out these last few shots from our primo!!

Rick swims while Carlos Caliente pulls into bombs. Swimming here (with his set up too) is why Donde X gets so many beautiful shots and frequently Surfline reposts them!

BUT, Candy may have more coconuts than Rick. She is what, 10 years old?! And she's dropping into some BOMBS! The Resano family is full of chargers.

Manny is their father and role model. Does your dad get this barreled?!

This is one of my favorite shots from Rick. Colin Eberly on the bottom turn and avoiding that monster lip. Remember, it isn't deep so make sure you know what you're doing out there... EPIC shot, Rick!

Ok guys and gals, we've had all three reporters checking in today (is that a first at NSR?!). A big thanks to Rick Briggs for sharing his work and letting us post them on our site! Fingers crossed for more sessions like these...
