Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, July 07, 2017

Brian Scott

Howdy Surf Fans… Welcome back!!! I just made it back in time today from the big City of Managua to catch the beginning of what looks like some really amazing swell for the weekend. Check it out!!

Brian Scott

This was just at sunset time and the swell (I heard) was pumping all day long! Not too shabby eh?

Brian Scott

Aways good to stretch before you paddle out into some bombs. Cesar bout to get his evening regular sesh on.

Brian Scott

From the looks of it, seems like the lefts were the dominating direction for this swell. We’ll have to see tomorrow morning how that plays out.

Brian Scott

The only really big rights I saw coming through were up the road at out local reef break. Any takers on some big shifty outside sets. I saw some bombs connecting all the way in to the beach.

Brian Scott

Quite possibly the best internet cafe with a view? Ok, we don’t really have an internet cafe here, but man is this lone chica missing all the action or what.

Brian Scott

Action like Mr. Jackson that is. Check out the sequence of this wave of the day by Señor Obando, which also happened to be his last wave of the day.

Brian Scott

Now since I wasn’t here all day, I can’t really claim this was the wave of the day… BUT it was the best one I saw with my own two eyes.

Brian Scott

and let me tell you..

Brian Scott

This sequence is a lot longer than just a few frames I’m throwing up on here.

Brian Scott

Because most of the wave looked like this… empty.

Brian Scott

That is, until you see this; which is pretty normal any time you see this guy out in the lineup on big hollow barreling days like this.

Brian Scott

There were a few little lowell’s here and there, but that didn’t stop the frothing crowd to make due with some creativeness during the layover time.

Brian Scott

Certainly some room for creative carving as well.

Brian Scott

This, however is something we all pretty much cringe at whenever we see it as surfers. Whether it’s an honest “I didn’t see him down the line that far” response of a mistake or more worse, the blatant “I’m going no matter what” burn. The latter will eventually catch up with you. Just remember what goes around comes around amigos! So play nice out there.

Brian Scott

Brett and Joey completely agree!

Brian Scott

Dreamlike conditions for the view of this surfer…

Brian Scott

and dreamlike conditions for the view of this surfer. Lucky for us, we have awesome visuals coming in and back out on days like today.

Brian Scott

That’s it for this Friday, friends. I’m gonna be out there early in the AM because it should be firing again and I don’t want to miss anymore than I already did. So hope to see you all back here again mañana! Hasta Pronto ~
