Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, July 05, 2020

Brian Scott

Hola amigos! Welcome to your Sunday surf report.  Today’s surf reporting came with a little bit of hunt and search method as there weren’t very many people out to surf the funky waves we had on tap today. I ended up linking up with a couple of my “Go’To” guys that like to surf the point. Click on that “read more” button to see how it went.

Brian Scott

Not a bad setup, considering all other options weren’t in anyone else’s favor today.

Brian Scott

Dario gave me a message early on that he was planning on surfing up at the point, but to make it more interesting, he said he was going to try out his newly handcrafted hydrofoil board.

Brian Scott

For only riding this a couple of times so far…. it looks like he’s getting the hang of it pretty well!!

Brian Scott

Stoked to see my other amigo Kenny pulling up and making the paddle out as well.

Brian Scott

This place always has that feeling where you maybe wanna have at least one other surfer out there to share some waves with. Lots of big rocks and boils and even always some pretty big fish out there chasing even bigger fish.

Brian Scott

Kenny’s surfed this place quite a bit, so his comfort level is way up there.

Brian Scott

Looking back at the more popular surf spots along our special beach. Not a single person was out down that way.

Brian Scott

When this place goes XL, it can be a really sick right hand point break. You just need the patience to make the paddle out and the rest is everything about timing, positioning and more patience.

Brian Scott

Dario way out and way above this crumbly machine and well above those lurking giant rocks below.

Brian Scott

Today was all about the buddy system and I was the one on the beach to watch it go down for a couple hours.

Brian Scott

Kenny and Dario trading off waves for what was by far the best surf session of the day.

Brian Scott

In between sets… talking shop and checking out the interesting hardware.

Brian Scott

Peaks a plenty…. choose yours. The mile long stretch had your name on it… if you wanted to paddle out!

Brian Scott

I thought I was being pretty stealthy all posted up in this big cluster of trees up the beach.

Brian Scott

And then BAMMMM….. this guy pops up in my viewfinder… hahahaha Darn it Devon, you scared the crap out of me LOL!!!

Brian Scott

If you like rights, or you think this place is only about the lefts, come try this wave. It's rarely surfed and the backdrop is really amazing and picturesque.

Brian Scott

Like with this pulled back view. D-man, taking off real close to the rocks, but that’s exactly where you want to be, as dangerous and sketchy as it may seem.

Brian Scott

Yeaaaah buddy, looks like you got the hang of your Franken-Foill!!!

Brian Scott

One day, maybe we’ll see someone tow this place outside the giant rock headland when it’s 25 foot and maxing!

Brian Scott

You can’t say it was a Sunday Funday unless you see at least one happy smiling family on the beach, enjoying the day. Here’s to another good Sunday! Cheers ~
