Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, July 03, 2020

Brian Scott

Happy Friday people! Got down to the playa fully amped as the waves were looking to be turning on…. and then I got totally denied. Pull in to take a look!

Brian Scott

The winds were calm, it was actually pretty glassy. The waves were groomed up really nicely and some sets were starting to show.

Brian Scott

And then out of nowhere this ominous dark beast came sailing in quick from inland.

Brian Scott

Here’s one of the those beauties I was trying to describe a minute ago. So beautiful. So clean. So unridden???

Brian Scott

There were a few heads up at the reef. This wave doesn’t really come close to doing it justice to some of the bombs I watched a little earlier that were freight training through.

Brian Scott

With everything coming together for what was looking to be a really epic sunset session, here’s Jacksons first wave right after he just paddled out.

Brian Scott

Second wave but almost exactly same view and almost identical reeling right hand wave.

Brian Scott

Drop kneeing and hand stalling, setting up for something really nice.

Brian Scott

Like really NICE!!!

Brian Scott

The cover up was and is usually always longer than I can show you with just individual slides.

Brian Scott

But he was in there for a good couple of seconds.

Brian Scott

Of course, if it’s Jackson surfing, you can almost always count on him coming out too!

Brian Scott

Here’s his exit from his first wave.

Brian Scott

That’s two perfect draining rights back to back!

Brian Scott

This was right about when I felt that eerily cold whirling wind start to hit my back and I knew what was coming.

Brian Scott

Yup… talk about frustration. The waves were just turning on and now it was a race against time and mother nature at this point.

Brian Scott

Well, she won this time! But I’m stoked to have been able to get what I did. The rain never let up and is still coming down as I write this… BaaaahHumbug!!! hahaha. I wonder how the boys faired with the rest of their sunset…. errr, well we’ll just call it dusk session??? It was short, but it sure was petty impressive for about 20 min, at least for me… the camera dude! Saludos ~
