Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, July 03, 2018

Brian Scott

Hey there, welcome to todays surf report.  We had some fun waist to head high surf with a mild crowd in the late morning to early mid day. Check it!

Brian Scott

Maybe there were a few over head sets, but what’s a few feet right?

Brian Scott

Not too big, but glassy as heck, as this panga (top right) makes it’s way to one of the best places to surf today.

Brian Scott

If you stay here, you don’t have to come by boat, which saves on money. Also, this way you can get a mini work out when you lightly jog your way to the beach. It’s a win win.

Brian Scott

Although, I might have kicked my jog into a slight sprint after I saw this as I got down towards the playa.

Brian Scott

The real “baller” way to do it, is to stay here and have a jet ski to go check out all the other surf spots. Megan and Mike…. some of the coolest “baller” philanthropists I know.

Brian Scott

All eyes on this guy…. makes his wave feel all that much cooler!

Brian Scott

Oh, that feeling of trust in your quiver, especially your fins for the drive you need on this race track and the complete optimism that you’re going to 100% make this wave.

Brian Scott

The USA has Paul Mitchell. Nicaragua has Papagayo; this hair product is all natural, safe for the enironment and free!

Brian Scott

Whoever came up with the name “Fun-board”, sure hit the nail on the head.

Brian Scott

Ok, without scrolling ahead, which do you think is about to happen next:

A. Barrel to air section.

B. Barrel to big fat cutback.

C. Skip the barrel and straight to a big fat air section.

OR

D. kick out and wait for the next bigger set wave.

Brian Scott

If you chose B, you are a wizard mind surfer…

Brian Scott

and your fantasy surf team is probably spot on!

Brian Scott

Peter loves to surf. Peter also loves his barrels ribbed… for his pleasure!

Brian Scott

Who’s behind curtain number 1 Monty?

Brian Scott

aaaaaaand who’s behind curtain number 2?

Brian Scott

Looks like we’ll go with curtain number 3!

Brian Scott

Ok, so lets talk about the elephant in the room, or in this case the elephant on the surf report today. For the record… drop knee is really only a step (or two) closer to real surfing. So don’t get your panties in a wad.

Brian Scott

Secondly, body boarders do in fact get a way better view of any barrels than their stand-up brothers get.

Brian Scott

Thirdly, fourthly and fifthly, the boards are half the price, excessive baggage isn’t excessive for travel costs with a boogie and you 99.9% for sure will never, ever have to deal with a broken board OR head for that matter. Love what you ride, ride what you love! The stoke is all the same. I’m glad we got that all sorted out.

Brian Scott

Look at that peak!

Brian Scott

Look at that set of peaks on that peak. Waves are so uniquely weird!

Brian Scott

Snap, Crackle, POP!!! BOOM, looks like someone broke up then 4th of July fireworks pack a little early!!!!!

Brian Scott

Well, we’ve reached the end of todays surf report. I’m off for the day tomorrow, but will be on a boat at one of the best point breaks in all of Nicaragua, so wish me luck! Hope you and your loved ones have a safe and fantastic 4th mañana, wherever you’ll be celebrating. Feliz antes del cuatro de julio!!! ~
