Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, July 03, 2010

Happy 4th of July weekend folks.  We've still got some nice waves today, but we'll get to that in a sec.  Right now, we wanted to give a shout out to our good friend Ted in S. FL.  Ted was rocking his new NSR Jersey while spending a family day at the beach with Donovan.  That's the way to do it guys!  Thanks for sharing the photo.

The surf was super fun this morning, even with the onshore winds.  It was running about head high to over head and the winds were light onshore.  Check it out!

A few international surfers were able to pick up some of the better waves of the day.  This is Rene from Cal about to dig the rail with a sweet bottom turn on this peeler.

Some of the locals made it out as well, and they were taking advantage in the lineup.  Check out "La Bestia" Calderon with an awesome maneuver on this closed out section.

Here is caught Jeremy "El Gato Gringo" with a close-up shot on the top of this right at Machete Pt.  Nice looking shot, uh!

We had a few longboarders in the lineup, taking tons of fun waves.  I think they took a boat down from Gigante to score a few longboard waves on the big pangas.

This is Dave from Giant Foot attacking the lip of this poor right.  Hey man, it was nice to see you again.  You gotta tell your friends that were on the boats with you today that i have some cool pics of them.

When we first got to the beach we some this bird flying all over the place, asking ourselft who the hell was that.  This is a Nica surfer from Rio San Juan, he borned in Nicaragua but he lives in CR now.  He was going pretty high!

On the last shot of the day we have this beginner riding a small but sweet looking wave.  The swell is supposed to build a little bit tomorrow,. so check us back out to see what we get for you.

A big shout out to Megan who was the only chica in the water today. This is her first trip to Nicaragua and she tackled the waves effortlessly today. Rock out lady!

Ryan got some good hits in today. He loathes the walk from Gigante but at least it gets you warmed up to surf these waves.

This guy was out all morning and I have to hand it to him because he caught some of the best waves I saw. Send us an email if you want to see some other shots we have of you!

This corner was breaking all morning! There weren't a ton of people out today so surfers had their choice of waves up and down the beach and were enjoying themselves. We hope everyone in town is gearing up for a fun and safe 4th of July celebration. Wishing everyone awesome waves in the morning and some sweet fireworks in the evening!
