Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, July 01, 2008

Welcome to the Tuesday surf report. This is Roberto “Lucha Libre” and Mateo “Pledge” bringing you the action. Today the waves were killer running overhead, with offshore wind, and they were opening up. We had some clients today and you know they went home with a ton of great shots. We got some sick shots so check it out!

This is Ika setting up for a nice barrel on a nice size wave.  This guy doesn’t surf that much back home but he was so happy to ride some good waves down here in Nicaragua.

How about Mat, taking off on a fun looking left.  These guys are having so much fun down here in Nicaragua, surfing all day long and drinking many Tonas at the end of each day.  That’s good life!!!

John K finally gets barreled, this guy had many good waves on this trip but he was kind of bummed because he couldn’t get shack.  Today was his day and scored.

The whole crew scored today, even the guys who usually don’t surf a lot.  This is Eero who was working very hard to get a shot on NSR.  Alright man, everything you did to get on NSR Surf Report it did pay off.

It was raining a lot in the morning, but the rain didn’t stop these guys and they paddled out to get a bunch of waves by themselves.  This is Rob, with his first surfing shot of his life.

This is Blair “El Tubos” setting up high on this one for what looks like a sick barrel. You couldn’t ask for better foot and board placement on this wave.

This is one of the guys who were staying at the NSR house. We don’t know how he stayed out of the water today when the waves were so good, but he had Tona and Belmont and his companions today.

This is Laury setting up for a small but sweet barrel.  These guys already have drunk more that 5 boxes of Tonas in 3 nights.  Can you believe it?

This is Walker with the last shot of this crew staying at the NSR Beach House.  Hey guys, I really enjoyed to take photos for you and I hope to take photos of the crew next time you come down to Nicaragua.

Today they was a good crowd so I took a bunch of pictures to let you know exactly how looks like out there. Wayland was out there taking off one some good waves. He was pretty excited that his previously broken foot is now completely healed. It was a good thing because with the waves today you didn’t want anything affecting your surfing ability in a negative way.

This is Craig who was not one of our clients, but he was getting a bunch of fun waves. Here he is with one of his shots, probably after a barrel, doing a strong backside slash.

Today we had one of the better sequences on NSR. This is Ski Beck getting probably the best wave of his life. Here he is with the drop and the set up on a bomb.

Now, the first heaving section, you know he is pretty deep.

Empty wave, I don’t think so…..

Really, another?!

Comes out on the inside!

Baby section on the inside….

And yes, UNREAL! Ski, you should end your surfing career right now because you are not gonna get another wave like this. Nice job man, we are stoked for you!

This is Sean who was flying all over the place today. He is stoked to be down here staying with local board shaper Tom Eberly. He was getting bored with all the of the barrels today so he though he stay out of the green room on this one and get the biggest flight of the day.

Here is an unknown rider showing some style on this wave with the drop knee on the long board. Here he is about to slip under the lip on the right with the last shot of the day.  The swell is still dropping but it is still going to be fun out there.
