Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, June 21, 2017

Good morning everybody!! This is Parker welcoming you to the pumping mid week surf report. Treat yourself to today’s action and enjoy.

Sooooo in case you’re wondering, yeah, the waves are pretty fun! If you like barrels, you’ll enjoy today’s photos.

The local boys, Lesther included, put on a clinic for all the spectators.

Today was a little more manageable than yesterday. There were some great windows yesterday but the ocean was a tad messy. Now that the west wind swell is practically gone, we are just receiving a groundswell. That meant the beach looked a little more normal. Yes, that’s normal.

As soon as I stopped shooting that previous wave, I saw a left peeling through the corner of my eye. Was I too late?

Maybe but perfect timing to catch Carlos Caliente getting shot out of the tube!

With meaty tubes, carnage ensues. I saw 2 broken boards in the 3 hours I surfed yesterday but I bet there were triple that. Let’s see how many the beach claims today…

Oscar always finds the sickest rights to lock into. They are fast so he knows to always draw that high line and drive through that section.

Everybody was watching and hooting on this wave but it was too fast. A lot of today’s waves were makable and perfect but some where too stretched out.

The peak in front of the beach club was going off! Waves from this direction don’t throw as hard so take an extra hard stroke to make sure you lock in. The last thing you’d want is to miss a wave while everybody backs off for you.

Even if the lip axes you, go for it and pull in!! People will respect your commitment and what’s the worse that can really happen?! Besides, the best ding repair guy, Ryan Cook, lives in our community.

If barrels aren’t your thing, find a shady spot, a comfy hammock, and a nice book to read.

I know a lot of people have been asking us about the weather. Right now, it’s about as calm as Oscar’s style. As you probably saw in the previous reports, we had a ton of rain and onshores. Now, the winds are dead calm and glassy all day. It’s possible there are pockets of onshores but it’ll be very light and glass off shortly after.

Thanks to Oscar, it still might rain a little.

The foreseeable wind forecasts looks pretty similar to today. We will have some moments of onshore, others of offshore, and a fair amount of zero wind. Let’s hope it stays this light so Pancho can keep enjoying those glassy lines.

As the sign says, there isn't a lifeguard on duty. Though Iguana has taken steps to ensure ocean safety, do us a favor from your end too: we know the pina coladas are delicious but just swim in the pool. The waves are firing and the rip current is right in from of the beach club so be careful!!

Otherwise, enjoy what Neptune sends us and use that rip to your advantage!!

Some ladies (with a lot of stickers on their boards) got out this morning. I mean, who couldn’t resist consistent overhead waves?

Lesther wanted to show them his classic trademark stamp (and how to man handle some tubes too).

But they were surfing pretty well too. Slightly prettier than Lesther, but just as much water thrown!

What does the rest of your day look like? Surf, lunch, surf, then sunset happy hour or surf again?

I'd personally recommend saving happy hour for those down days. But maybe, you've already filled your 5 quota barrel and you're done for the day?

Ok damas and caballeros, we appreciate y’all checking out today’s morning shots. We hope you enjoyed the action and stay tuned on our Instagram (@surfnsr) for updates throughout the day. We hope your afternoon is going to look as good as ours!
