Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, June 16, 2022

Brian Scott

Welcome to the Thursday surf report you surf-fanatics! Woke up after a long night of A LOT of rain to find some nicely groomed (not out of control and wild like yesterdays conditions) lightly offshore and pretty epic conditions. The only thing was I decided to make the move up the way today and shoot at the our other favorite place that loves some size, but this time of year, is usually like a ghost town. Enjoy ~

Brian Scott

There were only 2 people out when I got down there. But here’s a good size reference for ya!

Brian Scott

B-Dog back at his second home away from home and loving it!

Brian Scott

Rodge (the other only the lonely out there early this AM) making his way down the reef lineup in the chocolatey brown river run off lineup water.

Brian Scott

Ohhhh Good! Some more peeps decided to show up too!!! YEAAHH guys, you’re about to score some super fun waves!

Brian Scott

Just have to time your paddle out right, though!

Brian Scott

Joel just got back in town and is super stoked to be living in one of Central Americas best kept secrets. (Haha - well it used to be, but it’s still a gem of a place to be!)

Brian Scott

John Martin bottom turning and catching up with this sections sunlit wave face and the swift offshore breezes that started to fill in as the sun came out even more. (spoiler alert - not a single drop of rain today) YEY!!!!!

Brian Scott

With only 4 people out it was pretty simple decision making as the rights were most of the game chasers out there today.

Brian Scott

Looking waaaaaaaay down the beach with my telephoto and it looked like someone was getting a pretty good shack at the beachie.

Brian Scott

The only thing was you were going to have to wait your turn with about THIS many of your closest surfing buddies or amigos out there sharing the lineup.

Brian Scott

It was nice taking a little breather from all the mid season hustle and bustle today. Barry didn’t seem to mind either, especially since he had pretty much all the goofy footers empty paradise waves all to himself out there.

Brian Scott

I am sure it was well overhead down at PC’s, but here it was well overhead plus too; but what would you pick, more empty and less barreling, like here. . .

Brian Scott

Or maybe one wave every 30 min, if you were lucky down at the arena. This guy’s stoked on his morning surf spot decision for sure!

Brian Scott

Don’t ever underestimate The Bear-Dog. He loves Big waves, soft or mean and nasty. It takes quite a bit to see him sitting on the beach saying. . . “nahhhh, it’s a bit out of my league today!”.

Brian Scott

Derek is another one of the same type of surfers. Actually he’s almost identical. The bigger it gets the better is for him and people like Barry.

Brian Scott

It usually mellows the crowd factor by quite a bit, as the size of swell grows exponentially. Too bad D-man got juiced on this nugget. We both talked a little later afterwards and we both think this one would have been a makable barrel if that section wasn’t crumbled. What do you think???

Brian Scott

Okay mis amigos! That backwash was at almost dead low tide. I wish I was around to see the King High Tide backwashing up and over that rock shelf around sunset time. . .  must have been EPIC! See ya’ll out there tomorrow for the ultimate and final surf report for this weeks Friday.  Buenas noches ~
