There’s a little stigma with being a surfer here and enjoying the conditions while the country is unrest for political reason right now. But the fact of the matter is a lot of the local people here live and some survive on tourism, alone. Unfortunately as foreigners, we cannot do anything or get involved politically because it is illegal, but by coming here and buying things from the local people and helping to continue to give them work will still continue to stimulate the economy.  So if you like to surf and are on the fence about coming to Nicaragua, this is just some food for thought.
