Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, June 09, 2013

First day of the ISA World Junior Championship at Playa Jiquiliste, Santana.  Great conditions to start the event, head high plus waves on the bigger sets, nice offshore winds and killer water temperature.  What a day, uh!

The little boys were ripping it up all day long.  Unknown rider with a sick hack!

It was nice to see the guys pushing each other limits.  This kid from Japan was showing all his skills during his first heat.

A few kids of the Nicaraguan team runned their first heat and a couple of them did great.    Kevin Cortez, and Jackson Obando made it to the next round in the 16's division, Oscar Ezpinoza made it as well, but our member from Popoyo had a tough one, and he's in the repecharge now.  Jackson getting some shade at first peak!

Everything looks great and well organized so far.  This is going to be a great event!

With great waves!

And great surfers.  Come on down and check it out!

Big maneuver all day long.  Another kid, going big with a sick floater.

We all were super stoked for such as great conditons we had today and willing to be like this through the week.  Nice form and perfect size!

Did I say stoked?  El Codo Lopez did a great job with the camera today. Didn't he?  Aloha!

Serius maneuvers in the most critical part of the waves.  Don't you believe me?  Check out this boy throwing the tail out on his backside!

Alright folks, that's all for today.  Make sure to check back with us for the second day of competition.
