Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, June 06, 2023

Josh S

*Blow Me Away by Breaking Benjamin begins to play to in the background*  Viewers, you better buckle up or Tuesday’s surf is going to blow you away!

Josh S

I’ll start today’s report off with some of the carnage and suffering incurred in the lineup today. This guy’s board going for the GHOST RIDE haha!

Josh S

LOL! The wave fully trolled this poor guy. Spun him ‘round mid-air to get a perfect view of the tube he missed. I bet this chiropractic adjustment didn’t feel so good.

Josh S

The waves at low tide looked like the pipes from the Super Mario video games. Hollow and square tunnels. Our champion here is going for the dynamic fall to bodysurf move haha

Josh S

Even Ryan wasn’t immune to the vertical, and sometimes inverted, drops today. Almost stuck this one broski!

Josh S

Ryan adapted quickly and whipped out his “Flamingo flying form” on this one haha! He nailed this inverted takeoff and got a nice tube on this one. Way to capitalize on this gem dude! Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

Josh S

Speaking of gems… This guy got the sickest left of this morning. The lip was so thick that I was getting deja-vu from Skeleton Bay. Our hero had perfect style and form here.

Josh S

Yeah… There were plenty of below sea level caverns out there this morning. I surfed after shooting and can say that you would get crazy speed just from the drop, assuming you executed it successfully.

Josh S

Today’s report makes the conditions look way easier than they were. If you were in the right place, at the right time, then you could get mental ones. However the current and rips running through the lineup were probably the strongest of the year. The surf today was definitely not for the faint of heart.

Josh S

One positive aspect of the strong current today was that it spaced out the lineup efficiently. We also had a near perfect balance of rights and lefts out there. I didn’t make any keepers today, but the ones I didn’t make are living rent-free in my head right now haha *cry face emoji*

Josh S

This fella got a nice little left insider during the madness today. His booty is pretty high though. Gotta widen out that stance and push that back knee even further forward amigo!

Josh S

Don’t make the mistake of trying to paddle out in front of the river-mouth when it’s big here. It’s a set-up for a pain haha! The mysto-left left will obliterate you.

Josh S

I did a double-take when I saw this jaw-dropping drainer rifle through at Pangas. The swell lines were so clean and buttery today that most of the sections over there were almond-shaped. This one trying it’s best to rival my beloved Colorados (no chance at this though haha).

Josh S

My brain was melting watching some of these unridden beauties roll through this morning. In hindsight it makes sense, the current out there was wicked.

Josh S

Would you have stroked into this bomb? Oh really? Well then why aren’t you booking your stay and plane tickets right now tough guy? Haha

Josh S

I keep telling myself that one day when it’s massive I will paddle to our small chunk of outer-reef on one of my 8ft foamies, in an attempt to nab one of these big cappers. All bark and no bite on this idea so far though haha

Josh S

Yep, just another empty drainer. The shape of the waves was perfect today, but they were racey for sure.

Josh S

Step-offs at the mysto-left anyone? Nahhh, I get obliterated enough at the standard peaks haha. No need to suffer more than necessary.

Josh S

Ok spectators, I hope you appreciated our beautiful Colorados showing her true colors as much as I did. I felt like Gollum from LOTR when he sees the One Ring to Rule Them All (*cough cough* Monero), except my precious is full form Colorados. I hope you enjoyed, or at least tolerated, my ramblings for the past 6 days. Brian Scott is back behind the lens tomorrow, so I’m hoping I can blow up and pop off tomorrow that way I can make the report haha! Cheers guys and see you soon.
