Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, June 03, 2020

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone! June arrived and it continues with the onshore winds so I decided that it was time to change the scenary a little, just to make today's report more interested. Check it out!

Just around the south corner of Colorado you will find playa Amarillo, a raw, jungly, dark(er) sand beach with mellower waves than Colorado.

Javier Baldovinos

The angle of the beach makes it a little better than Colorado with these conditions, cleaner, softer and wider waves... enough to fulfill your surf desires.

Javier Baldovinos

Amarillo is a great spot for intermediate surfers, super fun waves without the incredible barrels that we are so familiar with.

Javier Baldovinos

Here you can find several peaks along the beach, and you can always check Colorado too.

Javier Baldovinos

This local kid was killing it, doing several turns on each wave.

And sometimes finishing off his rides with some air time.

Javier Baldovinos

Showing a really nice style on his bottom turns.

Javier Baldovinos

There were only 4 people in the water, and they all were having a great time... can you tell from his expression?

GA Surfboards always representing on every surf spot in Nicaragua!

Javier Baldovinos

I'm going to start bringing my kid to surf here, these waves are perfect for him (when it's a little bit smaller).

After the surf I went to check out Monkey house (the A-frame rancho on top of the hill from the first photo) owned by our old friend Oliver Solis.

Javier Baldovinos

This spot is amazing! The view is incredible! You are on top of Amarillo beach and you can check out Colorado and Panga Drops from here!

Javier Baldovinos

Oliver's cousin Emir with his wife Nohemi and their kid Gonzalo have been taking care of Monkey House for a while now, they offer really cold beers and good food, ifn case you want to come check it out for sunset after surfing Amarillo.

If it's rainy and with onshore... go explore, you could find really cool places just around the corner! Stay safe everyone, between pandemia and craziness, it seems like the world it's just another bad narco mexican telenovela! Cheers!
