Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, May 31, 2018

Javier Baldovinos

Welcome surfers from around the world! This is Baldo with Thursday's surf report reporting from my neighborhood, Santana beach.

After two weeks, the offshore is back! And after a couple of big rains the river opened up making some moves on the sand bars.

There is still some sand to be moved around but it’s coming. This photo is right before this guy got covered.

While the sand bars finish re-accommodating, there are plenty of vertical walls to hit.

This guy was having a great time today. Here he is with a nice tailslide floater.

And also big fat chunky sections great for a cutback to readjust the speed.

With all the excitement of the returned good conditions some people forgot that you cannot take all the waves you want, there are some rules out there.

Javier Baldovinos

There is an order among the surfing chaos…

… and if you follow the rules you will be rewarded.

I think this lucky surfer was Rayito, and if it was him then, no luck was involved in this wave, only knowledge!

Javier Baldovinos

These guys were tired of surfing all day with perfect conditions at Colorado and other spots (only by boat access). So they decided to go for a walk on the beach to find a cheap cold beer while checking the surf.

Javier Baldovinos

They even almost bought dinner right away but they didn't want to go carrying around a dead Dorado while zipping beers.

Javier Baldovinos

Not a bad spot to come on a vacation with your friends and/or family, right?

Javier Baldovinos

The offshore is back and it will stay like this for the rest of the year. Ok, maybe a few more days of onshore through out the year but just a few more. Come back tomorrow and every day to see it for yourself. Bye!
