Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Hello everybody! This is Parker checking in with today’s late morning shots. I highly recommend finding that comfy spot in your chair, clicking “read more,” and checking out today’s report. Disfrutalo!!

If you didn’t already know, “disfrutalo” means “enjoy it.” Check out the wave that Lesther really enjoyed.

Why do you think he’s routinely called one of the best local barrel riders here?

10 shots later but only halfway through…

Bro, are you gonna come out of that thing or what?!

Typical Lesther claim: a strong cutback with that extra stamp of power at the end. Buena ola hombre!!

Younger brother, Oscar Espinoza, had a little to show off for the camera too.

Barrels, hacks, airs… You name it and he’ll nail it. No need to ride the older brother’s coat tails when you also shred.

Ok, this morning’s conditions… 10/10 on the fun factor. At the higher tide, it was bigger with rippable walls and almondy tubes. Once the tide started draining out, the shape improved. With this direction of swell, it is fun at every tide.

How about the other best barrel rider Carlos Perez? He surfs every tide every day. Maybe that’s how he learned to rip or maybe that’s why he’s always smiling and having a good time?

Although I didn’t see him get anything epic for the hour that I shot, I know for a fact he got some good ones later off camera!!

Meanwhile, we got John Gilem back in front of the lens. I didn’t know how much longer he was going to last being away from the beach break!!

And our friend Muzzy is back down. Welcome back to town, bro! Let’s keep splitting peaks and sharing beers (don’t forget my American candy next time!!!).

Barrel barrels and barrels. Maybe that’s why people like Muzzy visit here multiple times per year or people like John move down. Whatever your situation or desire is, let NSR know. We’ll hook you up on vacation rentals or local real estate. But, we can not control the barrels (seems like Neptune already has that under control though).

Changing gears, or wave types, Rachel McKendrick works at a world class left point break. Check out what she can do on her backhand.

I wanted to crop this photo differently but her massive spray prevented that. I guess that’s the best kind of problem to have, right Rachel?

The left off the southern peak sent some great waves our way. The Reyner crew and I split it all morning and had a ton of fun rides and a couple tight tubes.

As for the other half of the Reyner crew, they’re stoked on the NSR Beach House set up. While the boys missed the late morning session, Lauren and Sloan enjoyed the outdoor patio. In Sloan’s own words, “the waves are lit.”

Lesther, como se dice “lit” en español? Or maybe the better question is, how do you say “man cave” in Spanish?

0414: Plenty of beautiful barrels were ridden today. Others were tougher to manage and a little fast. Nonetheless, everybody is stoked and ready to see what the afternoon session offers!

Buttttt plenty of good waves went ridden today.

Mike Syles got out for the entire dropping tide. He just got back in town as the waves picked up… life could be worse, right?

Yeah, life could be way worse, huh??? As for me, it’s time to wrap things up and get back out there! Thank you everybody for checking out today’s report (and go check out yesterday’s too)! Have a good rest of the week amigos.
