Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Melon Comelon here with a short intermission from the surf.  Last night we had a fundraiser and awareness party for the fight against whale and dolphin hunting.  Zack and Kim were able to put together the party at Mark and Dave's and host the premiere of Dave Rastovich's film, Minds in the Water.  Here, Zack (left) shares a picture with none other than Brad Gerlach (right).

Zack was able to throw together a serious buffet of food.  Everything was delicious and everyone was excited even before they could dig in.  Look at all those expectant smiles.  I know I enjoyed the food.

After food everyone settled down to watch the movie, Minds in the Water.  The movie was created to raise awareness around the world for the damage whale and dolphin hunting does to our ecosystem.  Dave Rastavich, along with many other whale and dolphin saving activists, make an appearance in the movie and share a little of their story with everyone.

After the movie, raffle prizes were given out to any lucky contestant in the crowd.  NSR, along with other donors, were able to give some product to the fundraiser.  Here a lucky little grom gets his prize from Kim (right).  That's all for the update on the fundraiser you guys, this is Melon Comelon signing out.

The swell dropped a little bit today but we are not complaining because we know that we have some sweet swell on the way.  Chest to shoulder high waves on the bigger sets, nice offshore winds and warm water.  Check out the lineup!

Yeahhh boys, nobody was complaining about the conditions, everyone out there was having a good time.  Unknown rider with a cool off the top on this little nugget.

A couple of ladies made it out to the lineup and they were picking up some fun ones as well.  Welcome down lady!

The locals were ripping all over the place, as always.  Carlitos busting a cool little air on this little inside section.

Unknown pale rider high lining on this beautiful right.  It was so nice to see everyone out there ejoying of the beautiful day.

We had some beautiful gems in the inside, and this guy was in the rihgt spot to score some of the better ones.  Working on a nice looking right on backside!

Waves are supposed to start picking up tomorrow so stay tuned with us!
