Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, May 29, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Welcome to another week of surfing in Nicaragua. This is Baldo from Santana beach. It rained pretty hard on the weekend which made the river to finally break and made good changes on the sand bar.

First peak was not showing its full potential today, there were just a few good waves coming in but not really barreling, just a good drop and a nice shoulder.

Javier Baldovinos

It was a different scene at the center of the beach… the waves were showing plenty of space for everyone to get cover.

I think this guy is “Rayito” getting ready to go deep on this nice left. Check out his ride.

Javier Baldovinos

Did I say deep? He disappeared for a few frames!

Javier Baldovinos

A few more frames and he reappeared out of the barrel.

Javier Baldovinos

But of course, those barrels were not easy to catch, some people had trouble trying to find them. This guy probably will need a massage after getting this shoulder rub.

Javier Baldovinos

Or this guy who got a good slapped on his face.

There were also plenty of surfers that got clamped while trying to make it out of the barrels.

Comparing it to the last few days of onshore and light side shore winds, the offshore was kinda strong today, look at the breeze behind the white water.

In the next few days there will be a new swell hitting this area, if any of you are planning to come to surf it, would you be so kind to let me know? My computer got fried last week and I’m buying a new one on Amazon but I need someone to bring it for me, anyone??

Javier Baldovinos

Here is another sequence of another great barrel today, this time it’s on a right.

Getting deep…

… and coming out clean!

Finishing the ride with a nice backside hack on the lip.

Javier Baldovinos

Here is a random first peak beauty… there was one of these every 30 minutes so usually there was nobody around when they showed up.

Javier Baldovinos

It looks like it’s going to be a little bit smaller the next few days but the new swell will arrive on Friday, so stay tune! Saludos!
