This just in:  Due to inclement weather, the contest previously scheduled for this weekend at Playa Santana has been postponed.  Stay tuned to NSR for the new dates.

Hi folks, the rainy season is on for sure! We have a HURRICANE category number one in the pacific coast right now. We thought this was going to be a storm but now is getting stronger so now is a hurricane which is bringing a lot of rain and onshore wind to our country. This hurricane is suppose to hit the Nicaraguan Pacific Cost tonight. Check out how storng the rain is right now in San Juan del Sur.

It is so much rain that the street can not hold all the water. This is what it looks like when it rains for 24 hours straight.

We were thinking about going to Maderas today but it was raining too much so we bailed. We took the camera out to the bay and found some overhead rideable set waves coming through with onshore wind and dirty water. Check out this empty wave with nobody on.

A couple of local guys were out there trying to score a couple of heavy waves It was so hard to tell who was out there because it was raining so much. Here is one of the locals riding a heavy right.

This is Calibilly with the last shot of the rainy surfing day at the bay. Lucha and Come Pan out.
