Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, May 27, 2017

Brian Scott

Hello and welcome back for another great day of surfing here in Nicaragua. Today we had some fun waves throughout the day. Scroll on through with me and I’ll show you!!

Brian Scott

The early morning saw some super clean conditions with nicely tapered barrels. There was a lot of Houdini acts going on for sure!

Brian Scott

Like this..! How’d you like to wake up to some of these in the morning?

Brian Scott

Quentin was up and at it early as well. He’s been ripping while visiting here. I hope he has a good amount of quiver since he still has a few more weeks here to explore a lot more of surfings nooks and crannies here in Nica.

Brian Scott

Some people enjoying waking to the smell of bacon, or coffee.. I actually think Lesther and (younger bro) Oscar can smell when the waves are good, because they’re always on it. Always ready for desayuno!

Brian Scott

I always know when Mike is back in town. He rips hard like a grom and he surfs as much as one too, if not more

Brian Scott

Case in point.

Brian Scott

Oscar warming up for the day. This kid surfs every level here. Big, small, barrels, airs, you name it. He’s got them on lockdown.

Oscar - Exhibit A.

Brian Scott

Oscar - Exhibit B.

Brian Scott

Lesther with a super crusie cut back. Check out the amount of spray and he barely turned his board. His surfing is effortless, maybe because he’s been surfing this wave his whole life.

Brian Scott

As the tide began to push in from the super low drained out morning, the afternoon sets started to pick up a bit in size.

Brian Scott

Peter is here visiting from Redondo Beach, CA for a few more days. Sick bottom turn buddy! I bet you’re not missing the wetsuit and onshore’s all that much?

Brian Scott

The wind actually decided to swing from offshore and it turned side shore while some of the biggest sets of the day were coming through; catching a few people off guard.

Brian Scott

So, there was actually some pretty good carnage today!

Brian Scott

We had fly-aways…

Brian Scott

Some going over the falls….

Brian Scott

I’m still trying to figure out what might have happened on this one?

Brian Scott

Señor Martin, you ok buddy??? Looks like maybe you got a fin to the ear or something? Glad to see you’re walking it off and actually smiling about it. Mike and John probably bout to go cool off with an ice cold Toña!

Brian Scott

Here ya go André, I know I had to give you a redemption shot on here since I used one of you going over the falls haha (sorry). Now that’s a nice man carve amigo!

Brian Scott

I’m seeing more and more little Nica groms out in the lineup. I remember with it was just a couple and now the community of “real” locals are starting to take to the sport. It’s a beautiful thing… surfing~!

Brian Scott

It’s always a good day when you see this many people in the same lineup, sharing and all still managing to surf and share respectively.  Nobody like an aggressive surf spot. Keep it fun and remember surfing is about having as much fun as you can. We need to be good role models for these kids coming up here.

Brian Scott

Hi five’s and straight over to Toña time, I bet is what’s next for these two amigos.

Brian Scott

Don’t forget to head on over to Casa Anana’s tomorrow for their Sunday home made Lasagna with special musical guests and live music from Tanga Drops. It’s gonna be a good party!

Brian Scott

Well that’s it for today friends. Time to close for another great day and start making your trek back to eat, wash, rinse and repeat and do it all over again for hopefully another great day at the playa tomorrow. Hasta entonces te veo mañana!
