Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, May 24, 2008

We'd also like to give a big shout out to the NSR Soccer Team.  Currently the reigning league champs, Team NSR is proudly sporting new uniforms donated by the Peace Passers.  (for more info on the Peace Passers and to see how you can get involved, check out this link: http://peacepassers.org)  The new unis are obviously good luck, Team NSR dominated the game yesterday and posted a convincing 5 - 0 win.  The team remains undefeated at 2 - 0 this season.

Hi folks, its Lucha Libre with the mushy surf report, if I can even call it “SURF”.  The surf hasn’t been that good the past few days, but the weather has been perfect down here in Nicaragua.  Today nobody wanted to paddle out there with that wind blowing strong ONSHORE all day long.  There is still some sizable set waves coming through and the water is still pretty clear.  Check it out.

The Virginia Crew decided just to chill out today, watch some movies, and have some pop corn.  The week is almost over for these guys and I want to introduce my friends officially.  From left to right we have John “Juan Lago”Lake, Jeff “Sitos” Breit, and Bob “Cebollas” Morecock, Chuck “El Presidente Zauzin, Randy “Big Duke” Duvall, Ed “Eduardo “Power, Rick “EL Juez” Aflee and Allem “Beez Beasley.  We don’t know where Cromwell is yet!!!

The best part of the day happened in the morning when we saw this beautiful girl from Brazil walking by herself on the beach.  Just imagine seeing this chick on the beach when you have nothing else to do.  So, I couldn’t resist and I went to talk to her for a while.  Her name is Marina and she was so kind.

Mario “El Danino” Martinez saved the day today because he was the only guy who paddled out there today .  Here he is trying to do something aggressive on this mushy wave.

Meanwhile I was on the beach talking to Marina and I thought one of my best friends was trying to take a photo of her and I, but I realized that he really just wanted to have a photo with her.  So, as always I will make your dream comes true when it's possible.  Yes friend!!!

Alright folks, this has been Lucha Libre with the ONSHORE report.  We are going to be praying tonight and hopefully we'll have better conditions tomorrow.

Meanwhile, back in SJDS, the NSR crew continues our assault on the fish. Pancho, DLite and Super Cana bagged 8 dorado and a mackerel in about 3 hours this afternoon. DLite was impressed, noting "The waves really suck when the wind is onshore but it's way easier to drink beer when you're fishing". Super Cana concurred, "You have to pretty much slam your beers here because they get hot really fast...plus, that get's you drunker faster". The evening was capped off with a huge feast back in SJDS after which food comas ensued.
