Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Brian Scott

Hey there surfistas and beach lovers of all kinds.. Brian back-atcha with another day in Nica paradise. Today we had exceptionally great sunny weather (considering the rain and the gloomy muggy humidity that comes with it this time of year) but alas the sun was out and we have some seriously nice GREENERY to show for it! Not to mention, the waves were pretty amazing too!

Brian Scott

Why not kick off the first slide of a nice big hack attack. The heat was on today and so was my good buddy Kei Kobayashi's surfing. He was ripping!

Brian Scott

One who serves up some nice burritos himself at Vanas tacos, Mr. Cook makes like a burrito and pulls right into this folding tortilla looking burrito just in time for lunch. Yeah Ryan!!

Brian Scott

The rights and the lefts were both equally as good today. Choose your sand bar!

Brian Scott

Big Rob here going for that classic left. Get in that thing buddy!

Brian Scott

Sergio is a good friend of mine who comes down here regularly every year with his buddy Chris. He is also one of the many uncles to my (daughter) little t. How many Doctors do you know that cut like this outside of the surgery room?

Brian Scott

Carly was out ripping today as well with her hubby Bo. I love seeing surfing couples. One of the healthiest & best combinations for any kind of partnership IMHO.

Brian Scott

See that smile.. its not just because the waves were super fun. She’s surfing with her best buddy!

Brian Scott

Katie cracking one off the top with TR in the immediate foreground. It’s you’re lucky day… you’re getting a two for one girl!

Brian Scott

There were definitely some sizable sets rolling through and it looks like they’re still installing speed bumps here in Iguana’s!

Brian Scott

Big waves, small waves this place has so much fun diversity anytime of the day, tide or swell. Which is why we love this place so!

Brian Scott

I caught DJ on his way out earlier today and he said he was gonna surf again in the later afternoon. Then I saw him about 5 min later..

Brian Scott

He says to me.. “the waves are still so good, I think I have to go back out”.

Brian Scott

He’s right. When it’s good it’s good. You can’t turn down good waves when there aren’t that many people out.

Brian Scott

Oh and right before paddling back out he asked if there was anything I was looking for in terms of shots for my report.. I said I need some more airs! DJ asks, DJ delivers!

We here at NSR love supporting CREA, which is an organization based in Limon 2 that inspires Nicaraguans to empower themselves and their communities by providing educational resources. We are super excited to see them open the doors of their new library and resource center later this year (if you’re here locally you may have seen the construction taking place in Limon 2, just north of the Santana service entrance). Help support the cause by purchasing some tickets to enter a chance to win a dream vacation week at Casa Sara in Rancho Santana. The tide was peaking just about as I was winding it down so I could come do the labor part of my work. Sitting at my computer haha.  But the inside section was full so it made for some good closing turn shots right onto the sand!

Brian Scott

So that’s it for todays report surf friends. Lets keep the momentum going with this week and check back in to see what’s in store for mañana. Until then.. Hasta Pronto ~
