Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, May 21, 2018

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, this is Baldo reporting from Santana. The winds were not favorable today, the sky was gray and sporadic rain came through during the morning.

The waves were in the no-so-good category... messy, choppy, blown out conditions.

The last couple of rains and big tides have brought some big debris to the beach, but right away Rancho Santana's crew started taking care of it.

Javier Baldovinos

They were digging out big logs out of the sand and cutting them in smaller pieces to make it easy to move them out of the beach.

There were some waves breaking at Santana if you knew were to look, here is nice looking left near first peak.

Check out this empty right waiting for someone to ride it.

Javier Baldovinos

There was only one guy in the water, only one surfer that got lured into the waves, only one sailor that heard the mermaids singing.

Javier Baldovinos

This lonely surfer paddled back and forth, up and down the beach trying to find a "good" wave.

Javier Baldovinos

Because of the wheather conditions, there was no one at the Club House's pool by the beach so, it was a good time to do some maintenance on some of the chairs around the pool.

Javier Baldovinos

I spent a lot of time waiting for this guy to ride a wave so I could take a photo of him surfing but looked like he was hesitating too much on which one to catch.

But after a while the rain started again... the waiter ran to take the cushions inside so they didn't get wet. He probably spent all morning putting them inside and then outside.

Rainy season is here and all the plants are super happy about it. All around us everything is turning bright green and beautiful.

Left or right?

Looks like these conditions will continue for a few more days, it sucks but it is normal for this time of the year. Have a great week!
