NSR

Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, May 21, 2010

Hey folks!  Everybody down here is waiting for the big swell that's on the way.  We are getting small signs of it now and we should start seeing it in force tomorrow morning.  The big question is the winds and weather - we are unfortunately in the middle of an onshore wind pattern right now and we don't know what that will mean for the swell.  It will surely be onshore in the afternoons, but everybody is hoping for a few hours of glass in the mornings.  Stay tuned to NSR as we try to get some good pics for you!  In the meantime, we wanted to let everybody know that our two surf shops are cranking and we are getting in new products everyday.  We are now proud to say we carry the full line of Zinka products.  It's good stuff and it's stylish too!  (If you look close, you can see Miguel smiling about it in the background!)

You guys know we just had to try this out on somebody.  This is our good friend Juan Busto, guinea pig for Zinka Nosecoat.  You're looking good Juan - don't let anybody tell you different!

As if those colors weren't bright enough, we also just received a new shipment of "Day Glo" surf wax from Sticky Bumps - it's only available here at NSR so come by and pick up a few new colors.  Paint up your face, color code your board and go catch some waves!  I can't believe it, we're going back to the '80's!  Chewy will be up later with the "Reporte del Norte".

Carl was checking out the waves. He was not super happy. The waves were pretty good sized, but it looked like florida on a nor easter. I was not really into it, but we finally found someone who caught a wave! woo hoo!

We saw a bunch of waves come in on a set. Everywave dumped and spit a crazy barrel out.

This is Jason king of the mush burgers! watch out burger king! He wrangled this one in on the outside, and got a desent turn in.

I found some hot chicks! Who knew? Come backkkkkk! They left without giving me thier number.

Thanks to everybody who came out to our slideshow night. We are doing it every thursday at Don Eloy's. There is live music, drinking, some more drinking, and some fish stories.

This is our shop dog Reina. If you want to steal from the shop, you will probably get bit. you will definitly not be the first.

Here ye, my dear NSR community, join us in welcoming the newest member of the NSR Family. Fernando "Cuatro Nombres" Abarca hails from the idyllic and pristine  locale of Rivas. Cuatro Nombres brings some mad skate skills as well as near perfect English (with a solid Ricky Ricardo accent ) to his post in the new Tola NSR office (playa Colorado dawg). He hopes to follow in the footsteps of the indominatable Lucha Libre and and the ever furry Chewy by developing his photog skills. If you stop by the Shop holla at Cuatro Nombres (Four Names).
