Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Early indications are that the NSR boys are going to give Surfari Charters a run for their money this year when it comes to fishing this year.  The recent weather pattern of offshores in the morning and onshores in the afternoon has really brought in the fish.  The NSR crew went out on the "Manana" last Saturday afternoon and crushed the yellowfin tuna - 6 of them in about two hours.  That's over 100 lbs of primetime sashimi!  (and we would've gotten even more if it didn't get dark!)  This is a shot of Pancho, CHEEEZE, Aram and Hot Carl holding up the spoils.

Hi everybody, this is  Lucha Libre from down here in Nicaragua reporting that last night we had the first rain of the year just as we thought.  It was lightning and thundering all over the sky.  Anyway today I made it to the NSR house and checked out what was happening with the surf.  It’s chest to shoulder high on sets, the water is still pretty clear even with the rain from last night. The wind was light onshore super early in the morning but then came on strong  about 9:30 in the morning.  Check out the lineup.

It was still raining a bit this morning but the rain didn’t stop the Virginia crew from padling out and riding a couple of fun waves.  Here comes Bob “El Cebollas” on a nice looking wave.

Here goes Allen “Beez” taking a wave the other way.  It was raining a lot when I was taking picture making it hard to get a lot of shots.

John “Juan Lago” was out there as well riding some small waves.  Don’t worry my friends we are supposed to have real good surfing conditions in a couple of days.

It looks like Chuck “El Presidente” likes to be out there with these conditions because today he was killing it all by himself.  Here he is working on his moves with the big panga.

The rest of the crew decided to just chill out today and wait until we have better surf conditions.  This is Lucha Libre signing out for today’s surf report.
