Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, May 18, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello NSR fans, this is Baldo with Thursday´s surf report from playa Santana. The waves are a little bit bigger than yesterday, but very similar in conditions, several peaks along the beach.

Javier Baldovinos

There was a good vibe in the water, everyone was having fun and enjoying themselves without taking it too serious. Check out these two splitting the peak.

Javier Baldovinos

These two were trying to split the peak too but only one of them made the drop.

Javier Baldovinos

This surfer made the drop but he was too deep to made it out of that barrel. It would had been a mayor drop in because the guy on the shoulder never noticed the other guy.

Javier Baldovinos

Another drop in… if he would have caught the wave.

Javier Baldovinos

I don´t know what was happening today, a lot of people were trying to fly. This guy just flew to the back of the wave.

Javier Baldovinos

Like surfing wasn´t enough… they just wanted to take off and fly away or something.

Javier Baldovinos

Perfect spot for a big turn or floater but no, he just went for the big take off.

Javier Baldovinos

and not just the people, also the surfboards. I guess they started realizing that they couldn´t fly but maybe the surfboards could.

Javier Baldovinos

This one definitely got some air! sadly the surfer forgot to unstrapped the leash so it didn´t go too far.

Javier Baldovinos

“Here I come!”

Javier Baldovinos

And here is Tony! It´s been a while since the last time I saw him surfing… next time I´ll get a photo of you on a wave.

Javier Baldovinos

Of course, it was not just wipe outs today, there were a lot of people catching fun waves and making good turns (without falling).

Javier Baldovinos

Here one guy that was killing it today. The wave looks kinda of flat but he managed to throw a good snap on it.

Javier Baldovinos

How about this guy? Great way to finished buddy!

Javier Baldovinos

The wind changed a little bit before 9 am today and it probably do the same tomorrow, so if you want to surf, wake up early and meet me at Santana beach, I´ll be there (but not so early). Hasta mañana!
