Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, May 12, 2008

Hi folks, we are "Lucha Libre, Come Pan Panic and Taco de Pescado" with the monday surf report from Playa Maderas today.  The swell dropped down a bit today but there are still some fun sets coming through.  So today we took a couple of locals to shred out with our friend Mateo.  It's over head on sets, the wind is light offshore and the water is warm and clear.  Check it out.

Everybody was ripping all over the place today. They were all taking advantage of the fun uncrowded surf conditions.  Here is Sr Rex "La Bestia" Calderon doing his thing with a nice round house in front of the camera.  The locals are so excited about the new NSR housing because now they can get better looking shots from the water.

Edwin "El Tuzo" Morales is seen here reaching forward for the next section. He was real happy to be surfing with a bunch of his local friends. It has been great to see how much "El Tuso" has improved his surfing skills just by watching his friends surf,

This is an interesting shot of Pedro "El Cacaste" Flores giving the camera a nice spray and showing off a few of his teeth. It is so great to be able to get  up close and personal with the surfers out there,

"Calibily" paddled out there and decided show his friends whats up by doing some sick maneuvers like this one. After thowing up this sweet fan, the people in the boat paddled to the line up to check out the local talent.

We even had a few girls paddle out to check out the action in the water. It has been great latley because since the surf season has started there has been a lot more girls on the beach tanning and in the water surfing.

Agusto "La Gaviota" Chamorro is  shown here a doing a nice floater over this section on a fun looking right.  This guy is so excited because his lovely girlfriend just got into town yesterday! We think thats why he was surfing so good.

The waves were not to consistent at Machete Pt., but when the sets did come in they looked real fun. Here is Roque "Balboa" doing a nice snap at Machete Pt. all by himself.

Mateo "Taco de Pescado" was out in the water today trying to keep up with the local guys. Here he is looking intently for the rebound section.

This is Randy taking off on one of the more fun looking lefts. He was stoked to be out there sharing some good waves with the locals.

The last shot of the day we have a beautiful, empty wave rolling through Machete Pt. The wind cooperated all day today, so we are hoping the same for tomorrow. Check back!
