Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, May 05, 2020

Brian Scott

Happy Tuesday and for all my friends a little further North, Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today was another fun day of waves up at the Reef! not too many people out (again) and head high waves rolling in for the few who decided to make the paddle out. Enjoy!

Two dudes splitting a fun little peak on the tide going out in the afternoon.  That’s how it’s done here, especially when we have waves.

Luckily Bertie’s new home sits just steps away from the sand and this break.

Brian Scott

Which also explains why he’s got this wave to dialed in.

His son Robin following closely in his dads wake.

Cesar on one of the many race track rights roping in today. This wasn’t even his longest wave, either.

Brian Scott

Ohhh Look it’s Mr. Chris Russell!!!

Brian Scott

He’s the editor n chief for the surf reports on Thursdays and Fridays. If you haven’t already seen some of his reports, I highly recommend you catch him on his report days and you can also give him a follow on his IG account here “russellnonstophustle” where he posts a lot of really cool lifestyle happenings here in Nica-Land!

Surfing this place and going this fast on a foil on low tide here could be really interesting, as there are a lot of rocks just below the surface. But not to worry, he’s got his foil pretty well dialed in here.

Brian Scott

Esteban opting for the LB log out there today… not only was he catching a bunch of waves, but he was ripping every wave he caught to pieces!

Brian Scott

NMRK 100% on this turn here!

Without a telephoto lens, like the one I have, it was really hard to see what all that cluster of floating things was out on the ocean. Turns out it was a small armada of fishing boats….. AND it looks like they found a really good fishing spot. That or they’re Celebrating Cynco De Mayo a really really long long ways away from home!

These are my favorite kind of inside bowl sections and photos of this particular wave. When this wave is firing you can actually get a pretty short, but really sick and intense barrel out there. Cesar looking for a green room barrel over that reef!

Brian Scott

If you find yourself tucked into one of those elusive shack-town grinders, you can always hit the inside end section with a huge gouging wrap just like this. Sickkkk one homie!!!
