Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, May 02, 2021

Brian Scott

Happy Sunday people! Well, or for everyone here, Felices vacaciones el día libre de los trabajadores!!!! Also known as Happy holiday weekend celebrating all the workers day off, which is actually techincally tomorrow. However, in true Nicaragüense fashion, everyone loves their Emerald coast here and just about everyone form the big cities come here to enjoy a nice sunny weekend at the beach. Cheers to all you hard working people out there! ¡Saludos a todos los que trabajan duro! ~

Brian Scott

The only ONE negative thing if there is even a bad thing to say about the place….. well, I won’t even say it. I’ll just let you all guess. I’ll give you a hint. It rhymes with bag.

Brian Scott

But not even the backwards winds can even shut down this guys perpetual beach stoke! Mr. Chris, kicking up his heals and some arena too! Yeeeaaaaaah Maverick, can I be your goose?

Brian Scott

The wind actually was so good when I checked it and there were at last a dozen people out and I know for a fact my report would have been 99.9% better had I gotten down to the beach about 20-25 min earlier. But by the time I went back home to grab my gear and even just with the feeling of the breeze and the swell of the salty winds, I knew automatically without even seeing the beach before I got back, that the winds switched to onshore….. which also seemed to have blown more than half of the the surfers in from their nice and dreamy early afternoon session rather prematurely. AND now you know exactly why we have beach Volleyball.

Brian Scott

This hombre could care less if there was a typhoon out there. He came to shred. And if you knew the process it takes to get here, you probably would too. He’s getting every single pennies worth of his Nica vacation surfing time in, that’s for sure!

Brian Scott

Same thing with this dude too! The real die hards stayed out and as you can see, they made pretty darn good examples of how to surf in less than ideal conditions.

Brian Scott

Crumbly windblown wave…. no problem…

Brian Scott

This is how I’ll deal with you, you ornery little ocean speed bump!

Brian Scott

Kids, ALWAYS say no to drugs!!!! They’re bad for you and they really serve you no purpose, much like this close out this guy is obviously saying no to. There will always be something better to choose from after this one dud.

Brian Scott

However, for all you adults, pulling out should be your ONLY option when (see last comment) unless you’re prepared to teach your mini-me’s about making good choices vs bad choices in life; and YES, introducing them to the ocean early in life is a must!

Brian Scott

And now back to our not so regularly scheduled onshore going into peak season…. like WTH dude? Who called in the order for winds from the Galapagos Islands today??? I didn’t approve of that!

Brian Scott

I’m sorry Beasties, you guys are and will always be one of my all time favs!!!! But you had it wrong… especially being that almost your entire number one fan base were skaters. It should’t have been “Slow and low”… Low, yes,. but slow…. anything with a board under your feet should be as fast as you’re able to make yourself go!

Brian Scott

Ok, don’t you guys go gettin’ your panties into a wad cause I’m talking’ bout the Beasties!!!!… I was just making a funny comparison to an actually rad song by one of the most prolific white rap artists to ever live on this planet. Plus, you try not running out of things to say after writing surf reports day in and day out 4 now going on 5 years I think???… haha. But seriously tho, this guy just happens to go fast and low because that’s his tempo!

Brian Scott

Yeaahhh, just like Emiliano said….. I’M OUT!!! Let’s make this into a full on mulligan guys and gals (btw “Mulligan” is a golf term if you’re not hip to weed whacking - which is the second most popular activity here at Hacienda Iguanas in case you didn’t know) so let’s shoot for the AM mañana, since it’ll probably be better then anyways! Thanks for stopping’ by, SBS is OUT ~
