Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, April 30, 2009

Hi and welcome to the Thursday surf report.  This is the NSR family bringing you the surf action from out here at Playa Maderas.  Today we drove up to the beach in the morning to score some fun waves with a few locals.  The waves were super fun running about waist to chest high with some sporadic shoulder high waves on sets, the winds were offshore and the water was warm.  Check out the lineup.

Today was one of those days that you really wish to be out there because the waves were super fun and the lineup was almost empty.  Here is our very good friend “El Chulin” Estrella about to tear up the lip of this sweet left.

The lineup was super mellow- there were only 3 local surfers out and 3 other internationals sharing plenty of fun waves all over the place.  Check out this chick high lining on this little nugget.

This is Alexander from Paris bottom turning on one of the better set waves of the day.  He got nice sequence of this wave but too many to post.  Here we have one of the nicer ones.

Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro was ripping as always.  This time we have a cool shot of him getting into this small but sweet shack.  This guy has been surfing so much better lately and I think he is one of the guys to watch on the upcoming surf contest starting on May 9th.

Felipe “El Pipe” Chompipe” is one of the kids that are trying to become a successful surfer in the future.  He’s been surfing for less than a year and he is already charging out there.  Check him out working on his backside style on this right.

This time of the year the bay in San Juan del Sur get quite busy for many visitors that come down on HUGE boats.  Did I say HUGE?  Check out that thing in the background, it looks so much bigger than our town.

It is good to know that everybody is having a good time down here, including the horse.  He is so happy meeting people from all over the world.

On the last shot of the day we have “La Gaviota” with a killer backside snap on this left.  The waves should be fun tomorrow as well so be sure to check us back out.

Hi everyone, this is Come Pan Panic reporting from one of the most beautiful beaches down south of Nicaragua.  Today we were glad to enjoy the day with Peter and Laura one more time.  Yeah, these guys were so stoked with the first surf lesson they had with us yesterday and today they decided to do it again.  The waves were small but really fun making it so easy for beginners and learning how to surf.  On this shot we have Laura taking off one of her many good left that she got in her second surf lesson.

Peter learned pretty fast and was able to score some fun waves in the lineup.  Check him out having fun on one of the bigger waves that he caught today.  We hope you liked our surf report for today.  Please check back with us tomorrow.
