Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, April 24, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello surfers from around the world! I hope you had a great weekend full of good waves! If that´s not the case, then you should come to Nicaragua because the offshore winds are back and next week it´s going to be pumping!

I went to playa Santana around high tide. The ways were good but kind of slow. There were around 10 surfers in the water and most of them were at first peak.

While everybody was at first peak, on the north end of the beach there were plenty of good empty rights rolling every so often.

I´ve noticed that now a days it´s common to see at least one bodyboarder out in the water. They all are tourists of course, I wonder why non of the locals are into the sponge.

The swell is loosing strength which means that there are no barrels in the area. But there is plenty of faces to spray around.

Look at the soft and easy take off… this guy was having so much fun on his red board.

Here he is in another wave, that board looks awesome and worked great for today´s conditions. I would like to know the dimensions of that board.

Another lonely little peeler coming through from the north end of the beach.

After a while people started noticing the rights and right away there were a few surfers catching them.

Surfers started getting creatives after seeing the waves getting smaller and softer than yesterday. Here is a guy trying to do an air… he didn’t land it.

Or like this kid who looks like he is breakdancing on the surfboard. Interesting fact… he managed to recover from that fall and was able to surf that wave a little bit longer.

It´s time for me to take a break from the camera, I might just play some horseshoe while checking on the waves. See you tomorrow!
