Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, April 18, 2009

Hi folks, this is Roberto “Lucha Libre” Garcia bringing you the action for the Saturday surf report.  Today our very own Carlitos Calientito took the camera out to Playa Maderas meanwhile I was doing some surf lesson with our buddy D-lite.  Anyway, the waves were fun out there and Carlitos was able to catch a couple of good shots.  It was running about chest to shoulder high on sets with offshore winds all day long.  Check out this killer lineup shot that Carlitos got this morning.

The lineup was not crowded at all- there were a few international surfers out sharing some waves with two of the best junior surfers in town.  This is Larry “Carita de Venado” Davila going off the top of this left.

Our new friend Tomas made it out to the beach in his last day in town to catch some fun waves.  Check him out with a sweet take off on this wave.

“La Bestia” Calderon was ripping all over the place this morning, as always.  Here he is with a cool and powerful front side turn.

“La Pinguinita” Chamorro paddled out and scored some decent ones.  She has not been surfing for so long but she is learning very fast.  Good job Pinguinita!!!

As I said before we had some new students that wanted to get the best surf lesson in town.  This crew is from Atlanta and they were so stoked because all of them got some waves.  Here they are getting some beach instruction seconds before they made it out.

This is our buddy Ed, who was taking plenty of good waves all the way in to the beach.  Nice to meeting you guys!!!

Now it is time to get some vegetables to cook some food because we are getting hungry.  The waves should be fun to take the big boards out tomorrow but we have a sick swell on the way.

Peace and love!!!
