Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, April 14, 2017

Brian Scott

Hola y bienvenidos to our Semana Santa & Good Friday surf report! Today we traveled up the coast to see what we could find at one of our well known reef breaks.

Brian Scott

When we rolled up there were a few fun little ones coming through. The light offshore winds and early morning light got us super excited so we didn’t waste any time and we were out there!

Brian Scott

This place has a really good A-frame wave that can work like a machine thanks to the ocean floor bathymetry and Lyle was picking off the rights that were coming in. Today wasn’t too big but it’s still a whole lot better than sitting in a an office on a computer or in a car on the freeway! Wound’t you agree?

Brian Scott

Jimike was loving all these consistent little right nuggets that were coming in all morning. The wave count for everyone today made for perfect noodle arm material.

Brian Scott

Awesome light, calm winds… just some really super clean conditions all morning.

Brian Scott

The lefts coming in were the same, even a little longer on the rides I'd say. Dave taking the izquierda off the main peak.

Brian Scott

Some people need coffee to help wake them up… some just need waves.

Brian Scott

All parties in this party wave shot are amigos, so there isn’t anything but a party going on right here!

Brian Scott

Style-master Jay, all soul arch!

Brian Scott

Dave has been ripping on this board the entire trip. Big or small.. it’s always great when you find that magic board and it’s under your feet.

Brian Scott

I can imagine what this girl is thinking and that the great thing about early morning surf sessions are that it allows you to clear your mind from all things land based and the peaceful walk home gives you time to think about your day ahead and how to make the most of it all in the most postive way.

Brian Scott

Errr… Or maybe she just saw this bomb come through on the way outside??

Brian Scott

PJ picking off a fun right.

Brian Scott

Jay a la derecha también.

Brian Scott

The tide was going out all morning so you have to be extra cautious at this spot of the rocks and reef that become exposed when the water sucks off it.

Brian Scott

A close up look at what’s just a few feet below the water you’re surfing over. You never really get to see whats below the waves too often. Fortunately you can see everything here on the low tide.

Brian Scott

Rocks, reef, nothing’s keeping super grom Hunter from slowing down…

Brian Scott

full speed ahead…

Brian Scott

Nice wrap around with that speed Hunter!

Brian Scott

As I mentioned that it is Good Friday. So it was good to see Jesus (or a spitting image of Jesus) out surfing today!

Brian Scott

Whaaaack - sick one Holmes! but you might need to visit surfing Jesus though over there and ask for some forgiveness for murdering that wave!

Brian Scott

Jay, Jimike, Lyle, Dave and PJ, on behalf of Parker, myself and all of NSR, this week has been incredible hanging with you. We look forward to your next annual pilgrimage down! Safe travels home amigos… until next time!
