Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, April 13, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Welcome everyone! Semana Santa is here and that means that every body of water (river, lake, lagoon, beach, pool, etc.) is crowded with people, and Santana beach is not the exception.

The waves are small and soft which is perfect for all the visitors. There were people surfing, people playing futbol on the sand, people swimming, people drinking, people just relaxing and enjoying a beautiful day at the beach.

The crowd didn´t stop Gustavo to get in the water and show off his turns in front of the new spectators from all over Nicaragua.

First peak was super friendly today, all the local kids that usually don´t even think about getting close to the wedge were there, trying to get to know a little bit more this break.

Javier Baldovinos

So friendly that even a longboarder was there! This is Oscar from San Juan del Sur with the toes on the noes on a small peeler.

Javier Baldovinos

It is a totally different vibe at the beach… there is loud music playing, people all over the place cornered under every little piece of shade that they could find, drinking and partying while kids playing. Fun!

Javier Baldovinos

You had to be careful with the people on the shallow part whenever you got a long ride. Of course every surfer was trying to pleased the crowd but a miscalculation and the crowd could turned against you.

A woman saw me with the camera and right away she told her little daughter to smile and ask me to take a photo of her… how could I say no?

Javier Baldovinos

Oscar with another hang five… he is in the top 3 of longboarders in all Nicaragua, and he has represented the country a couple of times in international events on the longboard category.

Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy your weekend and I´ll be seeing you again on Monday. Peace!
