Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, April 11, 2021

Brian Scott

Good day friends! Well, yes indeed it was…a very fine day for, surfing. Super clean and dreamy conditions with waves that were woking like a carousal that wouldn’t stop. Oh and there was a bit of some size in there on some sets too…. like I said, it was a very fine day of waves! Check it out ~

Brian Scott

Holy Sheeeeeeeet GLASS Batman!!!!! Yeah, the winds have finally subsided and it made this place like a mini surfing Disneyland today. However, it was hot as heck (I’d use other verbiage, but I know we have young surfing fans on here as well, so I’ll keep it PG).

Brian Scott

Scott doing a little window washing, Nica style!

Brian Scott

If you couldn’t catch a wave today, well, I’m not sure what to tell you and your ideals about your career with this amazingly addictive sport/lifestyle. There were so many waves, just for example, I shot well over 1600 photos in sequences between half an hour and 45 min max. I would have and SHOULD have kept shooting because days like today are true gems! Just couldn’t bare the heat it was so bloody hot on the beach!

Brian Scott

Airing out (literally was the only way to keep cool) in todays scorching sun!

Brian Scott

I hate doing it when I do, do it, but I sometimes compare these days and conditions which remind me a lot of my old days back in San Clemente and the ever so overcrowded trestles. Only today had about .03% of the would be normal crowd on these perfect little A-frames!

Brian Scott

Check out this guy dropping in on this wave in the foreground with a panga out the back…. hmmm wait, did I just say dropping in and use panga in the same sentence. Forgive me as this has nothing to do with where this surf spot was today.  I promise!

Brian Scott

Move over dude!!!! …… No seriously, MOVE OVER! you need to be just a hair deeper!

Brian Scott

Yeah, Big Scotty knows where to sit. His payoff….. well, you can see for yourself!

Brian Scott

We had al kinds of people out there today. The new younger female generation is blowing minds left and right. Kayden here ding so particularly blowing minds on this left.

Brian Scott

The stuff surfers get excited about. Like super duper excited about. Come on, you know what I’m talking about!

Brian Scott

Even though it was a surfing wave machine out there today, sadly there were a few that got passed by like this one here, even with my head count of somewhere between 15 and maybe 20 people out there. There weren’t too many that went unridden.

Brian Scott

Believe me when I say the water is darn near close to being back to it’s normal behavior, hovering around the good old tropical mid 70's to 80’s temperature range. This guys attire (which I completely and utterly understand why) is strictly for shade purposes. Did I mention it was hot as heck out there today?

Brian Scott

Pig-dog takeoffs by a dama always looks way cooler than a guys for some reason?

Brian Scott

Chocoyo “jumping for joy” surfing style for todays waves and conditions and swell.

Brian Scott

Reef, quite possibly hucking one over one of the small but many little clusters of reef at this fun rocky surf break.

Brian Scott

I used to get these same kinds of shots daily back in another life when I used to shoot for the metropolis concrete jungle also known as Orange County from the piers all up and down the coastline there. This one isn’t from a pier and this is not your typical So Cal kind of wave or special kind of place to have as your regular daily surfing spot. This is Nicaragua baby! You’ve gotta try it at least once in your surfing lifetime!

Brian Scott

Just watch out for that gnarly high tide backwash. This is as common at any surf break in the world. Some even more gnarly, but it’ll buck you right off, or buckle your board, or both, which doesn’t feel good for your spine nor your ego or your pocketbook.

Brian Scott

Get out there…. get some and creep back into the dark dense jungle and come on back for some more tomorrow….. most definitely if you’re here but we always love your living vicariously via our reports, so everyone come back, be it in person, or online. We’ll be waiting for you! Saludos ~
