Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, April 11, 2020

Everybody stand up for this Saturday surf report! We had some fun waves this morning down in beautiful Nicaragua.

Everybody was out having fun catching waves, Elvin was catching a bunch out there.

Chris here enjoying some early morning waves.

Buzz dropping in on a bomb out the back with the race car striped board.

Mystery barrel surfer of the day..

The lips started hucking out a little bit more and there were some barrels to be made.

More often than that they would clamp but like my buddy Dan from Hawaii told me, if you make it out you weren't deep enough.

Double mystery barrel day.. this kinda wave would make my buddy Dan proud.

Elvin in the shade, hmm should I stick to the line.. or hit an early exit??

Smooth exit, Elvin was on fire today! Great surfing broski

Mateo always surfs great, I know he loves this wave and it looks like the wave is trying to send him a big heart. Is it just me or do you see that big heart right behind the drop in?

Nico was giving some surf lessons before he grabbed his board and paddled out for a few.

John on a nice steep drop, he was all smiles after this session.

In between waves I spotted Elvin doing some Yoga, looks like he's transitioning from Sun Salutations to a Tree Pose.

The benefits of a good yoga practice are so clear now. lol

Elvin had a magnetic affect on my lens today, it just seemed whenever I pulled the camera up there he was.

Yuji and his brother are out everyday like clockwork, even if it is just 30 minutes they will run to the beach and surely catch a few.

Back to back waves for the brothers, here's Koji on a sick right peeling down the beach.

Saturday Spray, did you guys have water gun battles when you were kids? That was the best, hopefully the kids will be out in the streets running around again soon.

Like Soulja Boy Kevin hit that Super Soaker tho..

Mariana was learning how to surf down the break a little ways. Her friend/ sister was getting some photos, I love photos of people taking photos.

Yuji out there showing her what she could do if she sticks with it, practice and more practice. Once you get past that beginner stage surfing becomes so fun and you never stop learning, practicing, improving. It's like that for almost everything in life.

Takes many hours to get to a level that makes it "look easy."

The Sun was getting really bright and I had gotten plenty of shots so I started to walk back up the beach towards home but as I was walking backwards I caught a few more.

Big Scott on what looked like one of the best waves of the day as I was working my way back toward Panga side.

Hey Tony I love all your videos out and about around the community, great editing my dude. I wonder what he's filming with that script on this beach walk.

Long distance photo down at Panga looks like Hernan is down there catching waves just him and one other guy.

Ok everybody it was a pleasure to make the report today! Bunch of awesome waves and great people. I am so appreciative of this amazing community and the people who make it that way. I think Miki Dora the King of Malibu said it best in "Surfers: The Movie" - "For me I can't live in the Northern Hemisphere I must live, back in the time. Where all these animals, all this sea life, all the oysters, shellfish, crustaceans, everything is part of the smell. Everything has come into the focus of the whole experience."
