Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, April 11, 2009

Welcome to the Saturday surf report.  This is Roberto Lucha Libre Garcia reporting from out here at Playa Maderas.  Many people made it out to the beach but the lineup was completely uncrowded.  Today was one of those days that you don’t want to miss because the waves were fun and there were only seven guys out in the water.  It was running about chest to shoulder high on sets with offshore winds but the water got a little bit cooler than yesterday.  Check it out!!!

Today has been one of the busier days in town.  We had around 100 buses from the whole country that took down some people to get a beach day at the bay.  We could say that it was busy but it really wasn’t because the last 2 or 3 days we have had maybe the double amount.

Back in Playa Maderas, the local surfers were taking plenty of good waves all day long by themselves because the lineup was not busy at all.  This is Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro with a cool off the top on this right.

Norwin “El Chulin” Estrella paddled out today and caught some really fun waves.  Here he is with a nice bottom turn.

Rex “La Bestia” Calderon had the whole beach to land all the busting airs he wanted to do today, not afraid to hurt somebody.  Here he is with his signature maneuver.

Larry “Carita de Venado” Davila was so happy to have the week off because he was able to surf every single day.  Check him out with a small but sweet spray on this left.

This unknown rider was the only international surfer out in the lineup.  It was so weird because nobody else was out.  Can you guys believe it?  Anyway, he picked up a beautiful right at Machete pt.

Here we have “El Mope” Miranda on the last shot of the day with a powerful turn.  The waves are supposed to be smaller tomorrow but we are expecting to have a push in the swell on Monday.  Please, check back tomorrow!!!
