Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, April 09, 2022

Brian Scott

Hola y bienvenido al informe de surf del sábado!! Wow, what a fun late morning of waves. I think i missed most of the people who were out on the higher tide, but other than the nuclear offshore / sidshore winds that kicked into high gear a little after i got down there to shoot, the surfing wad absolutely on fire for the few that remained out or showed up a little late to t he game like me. Enjoy ~

Brian Scott

Josh trying out some new equipment on a more juicy day. I’ll tell you personally these things (soft tops) aren’t easy to turn, let alone drive down the line in a solid round barrel, like this one here. But he was killing it on that JOB machine! Jaja

Brian Scott

The ones who opted for the more traditional shortboards found themselves racing down the line, whether they went left or right.

Brian Scott

Little bro to Josh, Big John squeezing his well over 6 foot body into this aqua blue cylinder.

Brian Scott

I HAVE TO GIVE SOME REALLY BIG PROPS & a SOLID Birthday shoutout to this guy…. ya the Papa, aka Señor Dan (the proud father of both Josh and John) This guys literally a legend down here. Feliz Cumpleaños Gran Leyenda!!!!

Brian Scott

Derek on one of the bigger outside set waves. It was pretty consistent, but the bigger one had a little wait time for them.

Brian Scott

A lot of duck and cover, but some with great rewards!

Brian Scott

Por ejemplo!!

Brian Scott

How strong were those winds today….. here ya go!

Brian Scott

They say anyone can get barred, which has (some) truth to it. But that’s not the point of this shot. The real surfers surfer has a legit rail game. Kai excels in both departments.

Brian Scott

The almighty barely 4 foot something Jett, will paddle into anything the ocean will throw at him. Haha looks at Ei’s face. Even he’s shocked at Jett’s take off!!!

Brian Scott

Too bad Emi can’t really ever see what happens after Jett takes off and drops into some seriously well overhead sized waves, for is micro-sized body.

Brian Scott

See, getting barreled is suer easy! HAHAHA - Kai is so good at it, he just got back from the rock (Oahu) and completely blew even the gnarliest of gnarly locals at places such as Pipe and Backdoor, paddling out and surfing the place like he’s lived there his whole life. This is something that is extraordinarily very rare. I mean SUPER DUPER rare. He’s definitely gifted!

I don’t know who this is exactly, but he’s got some experience wrapped up in that spring suit!

Brian Scott

Ruzzi! My dude!!! Stoked to see him having such a fun session today!

Brian Scott

Ain’t no going straight for this hermano!

Brian Scott

Derek, on the next one behind Rick. The sets were coming in at about 3-4 waves per set. So it was perfect for the small but dedicated to pulling into the mega windy super fast heaving barreling waves out there today.

Brian Scott

Jett on number 3 of the set. What is that double or more like almost triple overhead? Yeah Jett-i-mon, charging!!!!

Brian Scott

Hard to leave this behind, but when you’re spent you’re spent. The good thing here is it was probably roping all day…. and I bet it got even better on the flip side of the tide switch.

Brian Scott

The prefect way to end a truly nice late morning surf session. Ahhhh, there’s no place like Nica ~
