Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, March 29, 2009

Hello everyone and thanks for checking our Sunday surf report.  Here we have Jairo “Come Pan” Panic bringing you all the surf news for today.  This afternoon we headed south of town to score some fun waves.  The waves were running about chest to shoulder high on sets, the wind is still onshore and finally the water got back to the normal- “WARM”.  Check it out.

It's really odd for us to have offshore winds this time of year but at least they are light and the waves are still really rippable.  For the first shot of the day we have Wayland “El Rolimpin” trying to do a great front side floater on this white wave.

We caught a shot of our good buddy Alfredo “El Manito” Peru driving off on this nice looking left.   Hey Peru we like your surf style!!!

This is Christian “EL Canival” representing his zone.  Here he is with this sweet front side turn on this wave.  Hey dude, that was a cool way to finished the day.

Today NSR Surf School had a blast with the Alvarez family and their friends. Today they decided to enjoy the day with some surf action. Here we have a group shot with all of our students. They were so happy after a nice job in the water. It was a pleasure to meet you girls. We hope you enjoy your time (back) in Nicaragua.

This is Ashley representing the group with this cool shot.  Here she is showing us how much she enjoyed the day with NSR.

We want to leave you with this nice shot of this little squirrel, who was feeding by himself.  The waves should be fun tomorrow and the winds are supposed turn offshore, so be sure paddle out tomorrow.  Please check back with us!!!

NSR is proud to announce that Nicaragua's very own Rex Calderon is in Ecuador competing in the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in Las Salinas, Ecuador.  This is huge news and Rex's participation is the first ever for Nicaragua.  Best of luck Rex!

It looks like he got out of his first round heat today.  If you want to follow the action and see how Rex is doing, just click on the photo above.  We'll report back as we get through more heats.
