Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, March 14, 2017

Hello amigos!  Hope everyone is doing as good as we are here on the warm, sunny, Nicaraguan coastline!  Welcome to the surf report for this second Tuesday in March!  I was at the beach early and found some great waves with a slight crowd out enjoying the morning!

Today was the day of the barrel for sure! Hardly any turns happening as the main option was to get up and hunt down the tube!

We had nice A-frames hitting the sandbar and opening up wide! Lefts and rights aplenty with lots of carnage and lots of successful rides as well!

Carlos Perez was out for awhile, weaving his way thru tube after tube!

Take a quick break from indulging in these barrel shots to check out one of our beautiful rental properties here in Hacienda Iguana.  Casa Marisombra is located just a short walk to the waves at Playa Colorado and is nestled under the canopy of the surrounding woods.

The house has a lovely inner courtyard with a perfect sized pool! Casa Marisombra sleeps up to 10 people! Perfect amount for some volleyball in the piscina! Check it out in depth by clicking on the vacation rentals tab!

Tom Eberly paddled out on the single fin and got some good ones! Want a custom stick from someone who can test surf his shapes well? Check out Eberly surfboards! I know I’m after one!

I saw Tom pull into a few barrels this morning! Hey Tom, do photos count as a down payment on my new single fin?!

These guys shared one of the better rights of the mañana!

See that guy out on the shoulder? Don’t be that guy!! This would have been a perfect barrel from peak to shoulder if not for that muchacho!

Then again, maybe that’s just karma for burning the other guy any way!

Both those guys from that previous shot got plenty of waves to themselves today. This is Kevin looking into a nice open left!

Wipeouts were dangerous, these waves were breaking shallow on the sandbar with some good power behind them! Safest place to be is inside of those things!

Some of the waves were slowed down enough to allow for a easy setup into the barrel!

Same wave as before, just lounging under the curtain!

It’s hard to say which waves were better, the lefts or the rights. The rights were more consistent I’d say. Here’s another little insider as open as can be!

Carlos closed out his session with this gem! A freight train right barrel all the way in to the sand! Buen tubo hombre!

It was a great session this morning! Hope everyone around the area scored some good waves today! We sure did! Come join us if you’ve been drooling over the photos from somewhere far away! We will be waiting amigos! Until then, take it easy everybody! This is Eric and I am out for today!
