Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, March 12, 2020

With so many things getting shut down/ suspended over the last few days there are still a few things that we can count on to keep providing daily, the waves and of course our SurfNSR surf report. If a wave barrels at Playa Colorado and nobody is there to ride it, does it make a spit?

Stay calm and carry on. There is nothing we can’t do if we stick together and support eachother. Teamwork makes the dream work.

In that theme I bring you a spotlight on one of our neighbors in the Hacienda Iguana community, the Stop N’ Go Market owned and operated by Cesar. He has anything you could possibly need during your stay, don’t hesitate to ask. He could send Kevin to deliver straight to your doorstep so you don’t even have to leave your property.

Seeing as there were no people out at Playa Colorado I decided to jump on the moto and take the short ride up to Panga Drops. As I pulled up there were lines out the back and only a few guys in the water.

The report says 3-4 foot but my eyes are telling me it’s more like head high. This guy was one of the lucky few, able to pick and choose his waves.

The water is a bit cold here now, and by cold I mean 75 degrees Fahrenheit (or for the rest of the world 24 degrees Celsius) so warm by my hometown San Diego standard. LOL

One way to get that warm feeling inside is to generate some speed and carve to backside snap with a big spray off the lip.

If you’re looking for a getaway from all the stress, away from large populations of people, look no further. This is the Fort Walker house which is located directly in front of Panga Drops. If your company enacts a work from home policy, we have a perfect second home for you here :)

When there are only a few people in the water each set has a wave for each surfer. Plenty of open face to practice your roundhouse cutback or any other maneuvers you’ve been working on.

Well until next report I’ll be keeping an eye on the waves like our friend here, and of course I’ll save a spot in the lineup for ya ;)
