Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, March 12, 2009

Welcome to the Thursday surf report, this is Roberto “Lucha Libre” and Jairo “Come Pan” reporting from up north. Today the waves were running about chest to shoulder high on sets with strong offshore winds.  The waves were a little disorganized this morning, some waves were closing out and the water was still pretty cold. Check out what we got for you today!!!

This morning we went to check out another spot up north expecting to get some fun waves, but unfortunately when we got there the surf conditions weren’t like we thought.  Alright, for the first surf shot of the day we have this unknown rider taking off on this windy right.

A couple of international surfers made it down here in the last minutes because they wanted to score some sick waves this weekend during the solid swell we are expecting to have.  Here we have this guy trying to bottom turn on this very difficult wave.

The lineup was a little choppy so a few guys decided to take advantage on the inside waves.  Check out this guy going off the top of this small but fun left. We hope to see you out there tomorrow dude, doing the same maneuver on some sizeable waves.

Carlitos was the only local surfer who was out there representing the Nica kids.  By the way he was taking advantage of his light weight and paddling for all the waves he wanted.  Here he is looking down the line on this left.

We would like to share some of the daily activities we do down here in Nicaragua.  For today we have this cool shot of a man harvesting some banana trees.  At least we have more than 4000 pieces ready to be delivered to all the people who like this thing.  Mateo Guineo (The Pledge) used to say when he was our intern, that is good s,,,t!!!

On the last shot of the day we have this amazing picture of a local tree.  It looks like a normal tree but it isn’t.  This tree has a peculiar secret, its leaves are green and they only turn light pink when the easter season (Semana Sangana) comes.  We are starting to feel the new swell tonight and the wind is dying down, so it sounds like tomorrow might be a great surfing day.  Please check back with us and see what we’ll have for you!!!
