Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, March 09, 2010

Now this is something that you don't see everyday - a real live volcano ERUPTING!  This shot is actually from yesterday.  Carlos C. was passing through Rivas, looked up and to his surprise, this is what he saw at the end of the street.  Fortunately for us, he had his camera and was able to take a few shots.  We don't know how big the eruption was or how long it lasted, all we can say is that it happened yesterday and it was COOL!

What’s going on folks?  This is Lucha Libre bringing you all the action for the Tuesday surf report.  Today the waves were still small but we had many fun ones to be had on the big pangas.  It was running about knee to waist high on sets with quite strong offshore winds in the morning and the water is still pretty cold.  Check it out!!!

We want to start our daily report with this cool shot of Corage doing his thing on the big board.  He keeps practicing every day because he wants to keep his national title, no matter how big the waves are.

It was also a good day to learn how to surf.  This girl was showing us a little bit of her skills on her fifth day out.  Remember, if you are trying to learn how to surf, we have the best Surf School in town.

There were a couple of nice sized waves rolling in at Machete Pt and Jeremy was there scoring on his own.  Check him out on this shot with a nice little backside turn.

The waves were not that big but there were still a few ones to be ride on shortboards.  This unknown rider was lucky enough to catch some of the better ones.

We didn’t have many locals out today, there were only about 2 or 3 trying to rip some waves up.  This is Fernando “El Cascarita” Pizzi with a cool snap on this little nugget.

On the last shot of the day we have Randy “El Bambino” picking a nice looking right on his giant super panga.  We are hoping to get a new swell in the next days but unfortunately the winds are supposed to change as well but we never know.  Please check back tomorrow!
